Been watching this for a while, was £10.99 but suddenly dropped. According to CamelCamelCamel this is the cheapest it's been and the cheapest I can find.
Reviews look promising and of course Anker quality with their 18-month warranty.

Not a bad car mount but personally I still think your better off treating yourself to a Brodit proclip and holder. Nothing else comes close.

Those look nice and simple - thanks for the recomendation!
Although, do you need to screw it to your dashboard trim or is it something that you can remove? Being with a lease car it'd be hard for me to do any permenant modifications.

So you just pop your phone onto this ?
is it safe with the magnets, I'd be a bit worried especially if the phones charging as the magnet would be affecting the battery wouldn't it ?

You have a metal backplate included which either sticks to the back of your phone, in your case or outside your case. This then allows you to stick it to the mount.
As for the damage, I wouldn't be afraid. We've come a long way with phones and magnets.
I was considering these but the ball-join, swivel tempted me. That and my vents aren't in the best position. Reading a few reviews, some say that it was scratching and/or breaking their vents so I was a little put off.

It's rigid rubber, no chance of it scratching ot breaking vents (unless they're paper thin crap to begin with). The only issue I have with it being placed partially over the vent is that I have to keep that vent turned off in winter. The magnate is quite strong - I slipped the thin receiving plate on the inside cover of of the battery pack on my android and slipped it in-between the phone and aftermarket protection case on iPhone.

completely fine- pop it into the grill and you're good to go. pull it out when you want to remove.

I'd recommend getting a spare case to stick the magnet onto- cheapo 99p one will do, otherwise your phone just looks hideous with a magnetic circle stuck to the back of it.

I don't have this one so can't comment specifically. Although we have the Scosche brand. It's great, works on a similar principal.
Have one end with a suction that I place on the glass, pack comes with appropriate magnet that I keep on the inside on my phone's case - relatively thin, then just hold it to the magnet on the fixed holder.
I believe you can buy a sticky think, like scilicon that helps the holder to be placed on the dashboard.
Used for 12 months + and no problems.
I tried this on a car with vertical vent and it didn't work well as the phone was simply too heavy. I ended up with one that is like a tripod and it's worked well.
No screwing to dashboard. Each Brodit Proclip mount is designed for the specific car...they just clip onto the dashboard using the natural gaps in the car dashboard fittings. Brilliant
Then you just screw the phone mount onto the proclip mounting point. As I said they are expensive but you will never look at other car mounts again.

Good product otherwise.
