Not necessarily the cheapest ever (its been around £180 before) but this is about the standard price you should buy these at. Plenty of people highly recommend these over the HD650 and tour them as one of the best value headphones, and I've been looking to buy these to start my open head phone collection to go with my tube amp

I know these are different but how does actual sound compare with say the audio technica ATH-M50s?
I have had both and X2's stand out as the better headphone for gaming and as the best all-rounder. HD600's are the better headphone for listening to music as it should sound in a quiet room but I keep going back to the X2's as the sound is delivered more effectively, they are better built and are more configurable with the 3.5mm option.

I figured someone may have these, and also had the ones I own. While stating I know these are different in terms of open and closed back I'm no further forward.
Besides, the video is contradictory as mine are studio monitors which are closed back.

The ugliest headphones I've ever owned (I've had a few) wasn't blown away with the sound so sold to CEX within a week. Still in search of perfection

No such thing really. A lot of it is to do with signature. Find the signature you like.
