Decent buy at the price, if you are in a hurry before the Xmas deals.

I'm glad you put that it was cheaper recently before the the resident Marty McFlys started telling us how this isn't a deal because it was cheaper 2 weeks ago.

When the tablet arrives it will usually be on firmware version 5.0. Make sure you do NOT connect the tablet to the internet or it will update to a newer firmware that will block any attempts to hack it. Follow the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/development/amazon-fire-5th-gen-supertool-root-t3272695 and it should take no longer than 10-15 mins to do! The tablet I flashed with CM12.1 runs flawlessly.

Got one of these when it was £29.99, would definitely get another 2 for the kids if it went back down to the same price. I've flashed it with Cyanogenmod 12.1 (Android 5.1) and it's very impressive for the money. John Lewis has price matched, only matter of time until Amazon does the same.

I was thinking of doing that with cyanogen when they were reduced further recently (black Friday) but when I looked into it it looked like this was no longer possible (recent firmware update blocked it) and that there were some things that didn't work well with the device. Can you comment on how well it performs/what doesn't work and point to a guide that worked.
