The later games were made after EA had killed westwood studios. It was also a new engine and a 4 year gap between Generals and C&C 3.

I used to love Red Alert 2 and Generals! Excellent games.

Bought these months ago and still haven't touched them along with other games.

Will these run under Windows 10?

Go to cncnet to get a community launcher to get RA2 and previous c&c's working on Windows 10. It also fixes multiplayer!

Yes and no. It takes a lot of work and browsing forums from 2010 but I managed to get them all up and running on 10. Apart from c&c 4 that is but to be honest I didn't put any effort into that one as it was, and this is putting it nicely, a bit toss.

Be prepared to faff around getting these to work on modern operating systems, lots of tweaks and community patches required. Still amazing games!

Red alert 2 my favourite doesn't work properly in Windows 10. There are some work arounds but nothing perfect.

Very true - it has the habit of letting you play for a while and then systematically murdering your entire squad, due to the original copy detection software hardwired into the original. But it's still great value. It's been this cheap (or cheaper) around and about for the last year or so, though...
