£230 for a 27" 1440p monitor with 1ms response is good price point to get into 2k gaming.

That 75Hz is only for lower rez use, at 2K rez it is 60Hz.
All of the 2K 27" TN monitors seem to be the same panel underneath, and it is apparently (according to numerous reviews) quite good - much better viewing angles than the 1080 panels.
If this offer had been on a few days ago I would have taken a punt; as it is, I have a 144Hz 1080 VA panel on the way (I hope, still no confirmation email)

Probably the same panel, a lot of LCD/LED/IPS etc panels are made by either Samsung, LG, Sharp and a few other companies with a different brand on the monitor casing.
