I have just bought this instore yesterday after trying to find the cheapest ~50" TV and saw this.
I have it setup now and its a great TV. Very clear image and very light
is on my wall.
No its not a brand, but Tesco have great customer services with quick replacements (recently had my laptop packup and they replaced within 3 days or offered full refund)
If you can find cheaper LED, tell us about it by submitting here. I searched for an hour and couldnt find cheaper.
Thanks All Merry Xmas

the tv pictured in the deal with a 50 inch screen would be terrifying to see, though if i had the money I would totally make it as an art piece, no idea how to make a flatscreen curve out like old school tvs did, would be impossibly expensive to build an old tv like that legitimately at 50 inches wide, it would be scary if someone did

Toshiba makes 4k as well sold by staples etc. Put little more money and buy 4k tv instead of this obsolete piece of junk.

No, Toshiba don't make TVs (for sale in the UK at least), but why would that fact concern you?

I have a 405 line VHF TV. You reckon I should replace it then or get some new specs?

I notice you gave pretty much exactly same reply on a full hd tv a few weeks ago. Can you please tell me how it is obsolete please ?

The Xbox one S can only upscale the games, most Xbox games do not even natively run at 1080p, so your claims of 1080p TVs being obsolete is nonsense. I do agree with the right source material 4K does look amazing, but then again a good 1080p TV will trounce a cheap 4K one in terms of picture quality. For someone who just wants a cheap large TV to play SD and occasional HD content this will be absolutely fine.

Thanks OP I like the picture, for some reason Grundig comes to mind, wonder if it is. Nah not worth the Time to look it up. By the time I found the answer we could be into full wall screens, open the Tube and unroll them pin to 4 corners of your wall and plug in the thingamybob. Mmmm Wonder what brought that to mind. LOL

Now that's when TV's looked the biz! I'd love to see wood cases make a comeback. Maybe I'm now a dinosaur :disappointed:

Watch out for your eyes and those of your family. This thing is a x ray machine. Also if it breaks causes an implosion.

I guess you should save it. It will have vintage value like old Nokia phones

I found the lower price range were often the main brand I had to repair and what a fight to get parts. The plastic cases break very easily and had a strange habit of over-heating and burning the CPU.

To be fair I'm not sure there's a person alive on planet earth that doesn't know this. But I have seen an interview with a film industry colourist that says 4K on it's own isn't a big deal - it's 4K paired with HDR that is the real difference.

Do you have the current xbox one s or just old xbox?

No Freeview HD so will need to be used with a set-top box such as YouView or will lack quite a lot of channels (even some SD channels need a DVB-T2 tuner these days), and in a few years will lose all channels. Suggest finding a Freeview HD TV for slightly more if this is an issue for you.

No its real. Once you have 4k never go back to 1080p. 4k can play 1080p but not the other way around. Also hdmi 2.0 and hdcp 2.2 etc found on every xbox one s and every tv box, make 1080p TV obsolete and useless.

True, was a £500 laptop. But from what I read you buy an Acer and its 90% samsung parts one year and 90% unbranded chinese stuff the next. I hear they do the same with TVs with last years technology LG screens making their way into most cheap brand tvs the next

It all depends if you're going for budget ones or the mid/high range.
I used to fix laptops and Toshibas were pretty rare to visit my " surgery table"

In my description where the laptop failed was a toshiba and why I used it. had lots of issues with it. Bits of plastic coming away from CD drive, poor hindges on it and starting to crack, overheats and recently died completely. Looking at recent reviews of tosh laptops, they dont seem to hold their weight against chearper brands like acer etc.

As for TVs, you're quite right, as for Laptops, they're still ok...
Yeah I saw that, but apparently Toshiba isnt a brand really when it comes to Laptops and TVs.
I also note thats X Display so could have marks and scratches....I dont think I would have gone for that.
