I bought a sharpe 49" on tesco black friday event. Tool it back the day after. sharpe are not fully smart, they have bbc and that's about it. The one I bought had Netflix on the remote control however good not get Netflix on the tv. awful. don't waste time or money.

You need to do a firmware update on it. Takes all of about a minute to get going and then five - ten minutes to actually download and update... I love the Sharp TV I bought on Black Friday!

Or just get fire stick, root it and enjoy much more than any smart tv can offer for £20...

Reading through your post, it doesn't seem you're fully smart either.

I am very happy with my 49 inch sharp from Tesco at £199.99. The smart feature is a bit slow but acceptable, I paid extra 64.99 for a Amazon fire TV to use with, then all good.

Fire stick is slow, requires external power and is limited to a max of 1080p. Updating the TV firmware will give a fast netflix app that plays back at 2160p/4k and is better than the android/fireos NF app in everyway.

Cheap and nasty generic TV badged with Sharp brand. This is exactly the same as Polaroid, Tesco Technika, Blaupunkt etc etc. Pay a little more and get a much better TV.

I have this TV and it is brilliant. Setting the ratio to Dot to Dot gives great picture clarity, only thing that is bad is the sound but that can be said with most TV's nowadays, just get a soundbar to fix that.

I bought the same TV from Tesco, you have to update the software via settings for NETFLIX. Takes about 20-30 mins once your connected to the internet. NETFLIX WORKS!
Hope this helps

Guys the tv is not great, it's quite average. In addition to that sainsbury's will not accept a return. I tried to return mine (bought it on saturday) and they said that it's not possible because the box is open so they can't resell it. lol?

Bought this TV from tesco
Fantastic for £200 , has iplayer and netflix plus a firestick , job done
Picture quality is excellent on HD and ok on SD , plus it has NAS and USB playback
Be hard pushed to better this at the price

It's UMC but as I said for the money it's great

there's one in Saintsbury's Nottingham rd, but these have a 1080p HD logo in the bunch of logos on the box, couldn't see a 4K or UHD anywhere on it?
