And if you want HDR, you want 10bit HDR, and then we're talking about £800 minimum. Its a £300 TV, its good for what it is.

I've got a Finlux (vestel) 4k 3d tv and the input lag is 31ms in game mode. I don't know if this is also a Vestel or shares the same SOC chip. The Bauhn models sold in Australia appear to come direct from China. Many sets from different assemblers (vestel, umc etc) can share the same logic board or chipset and base their firmware on the same reference software from the SOC supplier, be it Mediatek, Rockchip or whatever. So it can be similar. Vestel's picture processing and scaling software is 'pixellance'
I've had about 5 or 6 vestel items and they have never gone wrong. Sold some on in working condition without problems when upgrading. Panasonic remains most reliable tv despite their entry level larger tv's and their small tv's being from Vestel. At one point they had something like 40% of the UK tv market. There are many out there.

Love it. Sums it up perfectly. Trick people into thinking they are getting a good deal on their shopping and then further trick them into buying a 4K TV at normal price.

What part of: 10 Bit panel yes the ability to accept a 10 bit signal crazily no Hisense fit a T-Con board to the M7000 that cannot process a 10 bit signal also no point getting hung up on the 8 bit 10bit mayhem that is going on right now the panel is just a part of what is required to get a decent level of HDR rendering Premium UHD certification on a TV means that it has attained the minimum level to make HDR work this was agreed to by most of the main manufacturers Hisense included.
...dont you understand??

Not the same. Hisense supports 10bit signals but that is not the same as having an actual 10bit panel. On Hisense and any 4k TV under 800, all that happens is the signal is coverted to an 8bit one. You're not gonna get 1billion colours with Hisense.

£300 for a 50inch 4k tv. Sounds like a bargain to me. I've not noticed any other tvs posted on here from asda and co-op etc etc. Not saying I'd buy it though as I prefer the more premium brand. But like I say, looks like a bargain to me lol.

It's not just about 10 bit panels you need a bright display something like a minimum of 700 cd/m2 otherwise it won't have a wide colour gamut which is the whole point of HDR. Many of the Hisense models which are HDR signal compatible only have a brightness from 200-350 cd/m2 which is actually less than many non HDR 4k tv's. Samsung do some outstanding HDR sets at a minimum of about £800-1000 with 1000 cd/m2, 10bit and a true wide colour gamut. However from what I've read their is a high failure rate on these Samsung panels but I guess they are state of the art for the moment.
Don't get me wrong though the Hisense models will reveal more shadow detail but they are not capable of creating a realistic natural bright image like the true HDR models. So its some improvement but certainly nothing that great.
Look here for details of which hisense models have true 10bit panels.
The only reason that buying this from Aldi rather than another retailer makes any sense is the 3yr warranty, although not sure how Aldi are at honouring those after the 1st year

Listen Sony is the best TV make I've had from the big box to the one I've got now the settings are easy to change and the quality picture you get in HDR is beyond this world! my advise just keep saving and spend a little more on the best

Vestel. You can tell from the stock display of the interactive features, the feet (sad I know) and the rear image as well. Vestel apart from anything else are the only manufacturer with the telltale slot for a 3-pin plug at the back. The list of brands under which this TV is sold is almost unending e.g. Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi, Polaroid, Celcus, Digihome and so on.

Is it? Why is it a good deal? This item is available at this price from every retailer that sells it. It's a typical example of people seeing Aldi and assuming it's a good deal, that's what Aldi have made you believe, whereas in reality the item is exactly the same price as everywhere that sells the 50" ish Vestel 2016 UHD TV. Same price at ASDA, Sainsburys, Tesco, Coop, etc. etc. etc.

Cold. Same price it always is. It's the 2016 Vestel that has been £300 every time it's be posted. Normal price. Not a hot deal. Keen to hear "Pondis" why you "think it looks good for the price" given that the identical TV has been this price for the whole year and always £300 when posted (well sometimes people have daftly shared at above £300 but £300 is the normal price for this TV).
