3D VR viewer glasses for 99p at Home Bargains. I bought a pair and they are brilliant for the price. A great stocking filler. These are also available in Poundland as posted here before.

Download some VR apps (plenty of free ones about) then pop your phone/iPod inside the goggles.

Bought one of these last week, put it together quickly but it was flimsy and just felt uncomfortable as hell. If you're really that hard up then I suppose it'll do but you'd be better off spending a few quid more on the plastic one they're selling.
Doesn't fit a iPhone 6 as it covers the camera so you won't be able to see AR on the screen. iphone plus would be too big for it too

For 99p, they're not bad. I had fun for a few hours and that was that. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about VR glasses and I got a small glimpse at 99p.

You've coincidentally just summed up the entire VR fad that suckers are currently being parted from several hundred sheets for. Also file under 3DTV.

Don't tar 3DTV with the same brush. This "sucker" is still happily using it ....and is in no rush to embrace 4K as I refuse to lose a feature I use just because it doesn't suit TV manufacturers - who now want you to abandon 3D for the next thing.
The problem with 3D (if we can call it that) are the non standard glasses and need to replace batteries. The other issue I guess is that not everyone can get on with using them. Still a great way to watch the latest action movies though

Totally agree. There are some amazing 3D films and with the right system you can't beat it. Guardians of the Galaxy and surprisingly Fright Night are great examples of 3DTV movies. The new release of Jaws 3 while not a great film the 3D effects and great. I'll give VR a go as everything is worth trying out to get your own opinion and not just automatically forming a negative one.

Yes, Guardians of the Galaxy is well worth it in 3D

Agree. I saw jaws 3 at the cinema, most of the film was 2d and they told you when to our your glasses on. As a young pup it blew me away as much as they blew the shark away.
I would love to see it again in 3d

TV manufacturers only go with what they think they'll be able to realistically flog to people though. Turned out most people lost interest in the prospect of seeing Phil Mitchell in 3D on a weekly basis (extrapolation of 3D beginnings) - as such they stopped bothering to trumpet 3D anymore.

Bought a couple of these at lunchtime. Seems to follow the standard Google Cardboard reference designs and so on, and even had the 'Works with Google Cardboard' logos and QR code to set it up etc.
But....
It doesn't have a button on it! Which renders it some what pointless for Google Cardboard stuff as most of it (even the demos the app comes with) requires the button. So in order for this to work, you either need a Bluetooth remote, or to cut some holes in the side and bodge one yourself with a couple of circular magnets.

I've found a bluetooth mouse works as I had one laying around.
