Have a hard to reach plug like behind the TV or oncoming Christmas Tree lights perhaps? Stick one of these in and you can turn on and off to your hearts desire via an app on your phone OR have it come on at set times and off too. If you've got an Amazon Alexa or Dot then use this in conjuction with that too

I have one of these in my garage running the external Christmas lights (they're not on yet!) and it's great. Shame there's no stock near me. Submitted a 'lower price' to Amazon in the hope they'll match.

Good stuff. This is the HS100, which is compatible with all the cheap Amazon Echoes that people will be buying on Friday (amazon are charging £24.99 for this right now).

Do you know what they will be charging? Although I don't need an Echo, with the right price I may be tempted.

Got £32.31 for 2 delivered from Flubit (none available to deliver from Argos for me) - so happy with that. Thanks OP.

Great deal, wish Amazon were matching.

Remember Quidco are currently doing £10 cashback at Argos if you spend over £25. So in theory you could get a pair for £22.98.

If its just access which is the problem, I use the remote control type ones which come as a set of 3, 4 or 5 starting at lower than this price. Better value but of course cannot be used with your phone.

This can control any plug in the house from anywhere in the world with a mobile. Great

Could someone help me understand how these work? ----- As in, how much electricity does this plug consume, sitting there connected to wifi and awaiting a "command" from the phone app?

I was sent an email from them detailing it. If you google it, there is a deal on Hotukdeals in relation to it.

No integration with IFTTT, no good for me.

Although they don't work with IFTTT currently, they do work with Home Assistant if you want to get a bit more technical. Vastly more powerful. You can also add Tasker into the IFTTT chain instead if you don't fancy that.

I have this and 2 of the energy monitoring variants. Ive had no problems. The app is great and has never disconnected. They do not work with IFTTT as mentioned before however they do work with Amazon echo and are a great companion to that set up. You can turn them on / off with voice via echo. I would recommend these to anyone however, no stock locally to me :-(

Pre order from Amazon for £16.49 and once stock comes in, you'll get them at that price
Ordered some from Amazon. Just need to figure out what I'm going to do with them now!

I've just ordered one, but I don't have any ideas of what to use it for..
Can anyone share some cool ideas for it? I've not a clue, to be honest.

Set lights for security purposes
Set lights to come on before you get up or ready for when you get home
Make it easier to switch stuff off from sockets behind furniture
Make sure that items you have left charging aren't plugged in too long
Make things like coffee machines automatic/scheduled if you plug them into this
It connects to the amazon echo so that you can make stuff voice controlled
Erm, showing off to your geeky mates, the list is endless, honest!

Yep, none near me any more. Amazon have them at the same price, they are on back order however and a maximum of three per account.

Just reserved one from my local Argos. Seems like they are in store after being out of stock last night. Not sure about other stores though.

Managed to get 2 of these before the all sold out. Also got me an Echo Dot. They work like a dream without the need for any external hub to link them.
