Almost seems like a documentary now rather than parody of the nasty party.

Documentary. I was thinking the EXACT same thing. It's like the series documented the decline of our ruling classes into the self serving, selfish animals they have become.

We live in a world where Alan B'Stard had some pretty good ideas.

Great show from what I remember but just a heads up - some of the reviews on Amazon are a bit concerning around picture quality and also some really sloppy editing around where the ITV ad breaks were. I can't see this ever getting remastered so it's likely to be as good as it gets and it's very cheap entertainment at £6.99. That said, I'd be interested if anyone who buys this set could confirm the same issues are still there, just in case they've improved the source copy over time? Thanks

I had a quick scout, from what I can see this is the only release on dvd which will be of the same picture/sound quality as the original release date.
