Forgive me if this has been posted before but I have just found Tassimo, Costa Americano on sale at £3 which is a very good price cut (normally retails around the £4.50 mark). No idea how long the deal is on for, but stocks won't last long I guess. In my local store the packs in the isle were gone but I found a a plentiful supply on at the end of an isle.

To tell you the truth I got the idea that Tassimo was "expensive" from people on here. So figured I'd look into it.
I got a krups with a steam unit built in 6 month ago for 130 delivered from amazon warehouse.
I've probably went through about 15 bags of Aldi coffee (1.60 a pop - £24). I get between 15-20 mugs out of each one - I find cups pointless, should call them one gulps.
So if say, I've used 15 bags that'd be £24 and I get between 225-300 mugs or 450-600 cups for the price of 10.6p based on 225 mugs. Factor in the unit cost of £130 and it'd be between 51p-68p per mug, or 25.6p - 34p a cup. Add a couple of pence to these figures as I also use milk as I always have cappuccinos. These figures will always reduce too, if I drink the same amount in the next 6 month - you'd be looking around 29-39p for 600-450 mugs, or between 14.8 - 19.7p per cup.
I don't get how they charge so much for Tassimo machines though. For a new one from currys it's still about 70-80.
I've voted hot as I'd have been all over these 7 month ago.
If you worked it out for a tassimo over 6 months, it's probably more expensive. I'll have a quick look...
Say you wanted 225 cappuccinos that's 28 packs at £3 per pack + the cost of the tassimo, say you got it for £25 on offer. That'd be 48p per cup, or 96p per mug, ofc some people will pay the price of £80 for these. Then you'd be looking at 72.8p per cup, or a costa coffee price for a mug - again, these will get cheaper but you'll not get it cheaper than 25p for a cup unless you buy hundreds of the cappuccino 8 packs at a cheaper price than £2.

On a side note, went sainsburys on Sat morning. Had breakfast in the cafe. Got some shopping, then had to speed home only to throw up the dirty undercooked (microwaved (probably)) sausage they'd sold me. Proper idiot snobs on the checkout too.

Good post, we have a Tassimo machine, I'm thinking of getting one of those 'one cup' type machines (cost about £20) and using Aldi / Lidl coffee now
