the GPs works great just be wary that If the sensor gets wet it messes up tracking . best using a sweatband for the longer runs. I've had one for a year and a half and that's my only gripe!! highly recommend for runners and cyclists.
That's just ridiculous

I had one.... and I thought it was pretty cool! Unfortunately, I got caught in a real downpour.... and it zapped the screen. SIGH!! Now I'm using an LG R....
However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Sony Smartwatch 3. Especially at this price.

Strange, I have been using it for last 4 months to track running / cycling. Never had any problem with GPS. I can see all my activities as expected on google fit.
Agreed, it's pretty poor for GPS tracking. One thing that I've found it useful for is GPS navigation when riding my bike in places I don't know. I was riding around London last year, and had this mounted to my handlebars, and without any sweat, the gps worked really well.
As a day-to-day watch, it's brilliant. I wear it everyday. I now go running with a Garmin Forerunner, but take this with me on my wrist to listen to music using my bluetooth headphones.

Can only agree with this. Absolute garbage, poor quality GPS tracking, has a tendency to hang up and loses GPS signal in the presence of even the smallest amount of moisture.

Great watch, had mine for nearly a year. It's great for running. You can load music onto it and leave your phone at home thanks to the GPS. To be honest I prefer to have my phone out with me so I can use Spotify.

I'd suggest the Blaze instead of the new Charge 2, me and my wife bought 1 each (Charge 2 for her, Blaze for me) and the Blaze is better in so many ways. It has a full colour screen, alerts are great, it has a larger screen (possibly too large for a woman's wrist), and a few other functions (fitness app built in). The fact I can set any notification to come to the watch is great, I can pick and choose what I want to see and new watch faces are being released all the time. Battery is great too ( I usually charge on the 6th day).

2 Nov 162#75
Have had one for a year now and love it. You don't think you need a smartwatch until you get one. GHreat for checking email and texts and I also use the calendar alerts all the time.Have used navigation and hiking apps and they all work well. Battery life is good but not as good as quoted. I usually charge it overnight and have never had the battery run out before the end of the day even with regular use

Is anyone using the SSW3 successfully as a standalone Strava device?
There was a beta app for Strava and Google Wear earlier this year, but I'm struggling to see if it went mainstream, or whether users are still having to link the watch to their phone and take both out on their ride/run.

Agreed about the gps, doesn't work well at all, I can't even get it to connect to my phone now. Battery doesn't last long with gps on either! OK for first smart watch, just not great for fitness.

Still a very good gadget, I would recommend to anyone even half interested in smart watches.
I got one last year to see what it could do really, expecting to return it, but it has many possible features you can make good use of, and even though I rarely use it much out and about, myself, I do use it every working day for the vibrating alarm, which is a great backup to my alarm clock.
The pebble time 2 doesn't have GPS tracking so it's no good for my needs, but looks a smart watch

Paddy_o_furniture
1 Nov 16#45
Piece of junk. The one reason I bought it was the GPS functionality which is awful, any moisture (sweat or rain) and the GPS will stop tracking you. I had the moto 360 prior to this and much preferred that.
In theory it should be quality as it eliminates the need to take phone and gps watch out if you want to run and listen to music. However it just doesn't work as it should, loads of thread on about the GPS, sony well aware but no fix, other than to wear a sweatband under it (which works against sweat, not rain).

I have this watch. I wasn't too fussed about smart watches but managed to get a SW2 for £30 second hand. I found it was handy to get notifications on my wrist, and when I saw the SW3 for about £60 refurbed I upgraded. Much better than the SW2, and I get 3 days out of it IF I turn it off overnight. Starbucks app works great to pay with, and the Stocard app works well to get the barcodes of your loyalty cards up quickly rather than hunting through my wallet!
I had a Samsung Gear S2, an LG Urbane then a Huawei W1 and decided that the little Sony Smartwatch was all I needed.
The Huawei was the best of the rest with a great screen but I wasn't that impressed with the vibration, felt like a pea rolling around in a small tin and it used to rattle in a 'not put together very well' way. For the money, I expected better.

I've had mine about 8 months now. I really like it but my battery life is nowhere near 3 days. I get one day out of it at best - this is partially due to my usage.... I get updates on loads of things going through it. Football scores, goals, bbc news, emails, texts, whatsapp etc The watch gets a lot of notifications. I prefer to do that and have the battery run out often as it doesn't take long to charge.
The lack of heart rate is a shame, for me I will probably upgrade when I can get the same as this with Hear rate and waterproofing so I can swim in it.
As much as I like it, this is more than I paid for it ages ago. I think I got it for £59 from Very using a code. Obviously you can't go back in time and do the same but it doesn't seem a fab price to me.

Not quite. It's still running Android Wear 1.0 and I've not seen any confirmation that it will get Android Wear 2.0. That said, Sony are releasing plenty of security updates for the watch, which is still a good thing and an indication that it is likely to get Wear 2.0 at some point.
