Sony Smartwatch 3 Deal but cheaper than previous post been waiting for it to come down now is the time (!!!) to nab one. Not sure is android wear 2.0 is coming on this but I don't see why they wouldn't as seen as this is their current generation and no Smartwatch 4 has been announced.

Not sure why you'd say this unless you've left wifi on (which does hammer the battery). I easily get 2 days out of mine now I've switched off the wifi. It also charges to full charge in under an hour so it's absolutely fine. Not brilliant compared to a traditional watch but far better battery life than most smart watches.

Wear 2.0 is coming in early 2017 apparently.

Sony have said Android Wear 2.0 is coming, and I believe this is the only NFC enabled AW watch, so I'd imagine it'll be the likely candidate for payment via watch.

The NFC is only for pairing with mobiles. It doesnt have the hardware capability to be used for payments.
Edit: Having looked into it more since l purchased mine then the consensus is that it is a full broadcomm chip which can be currently hacked to work instead of just act as a tag. So it looks good for future updates.

Struggling to find a reason to buy this and struggling to find a reason not to buy this at this price. Dilemma

Anyone know where i can get a metal band for this, at a reasonable price?

nope. this watch is 2 years old now, I don't think Sony makes the metal band anymore, thus the insane prices on eBay for them!

You can purchase an adapter that the 'body' of the watch clips into allowing you to use any strap of your choice. From memory sony do an official one but its not cheap. Third party ones (usually 3d printed) are available in a variety of colours.

For anybody who has got one, could you please tell me if the strap goes small enough to fit children.
Thanks in advance :sunglasses:

The strap clasp slides along, very adjustable, I expect it will be ok for small wrists too.

I would say no if younger than 14/15 unless they are chunky monkeys

I've got tiny wrists and had no problem - also, the band is only rubber so you can easily put new holes in?
The only negative is charging the bloody thing - the port is underneath the watch and a right old faff to get at.

I use this as a golf gps and it works pretty well. The in built GPS stops my phone running out of charge on the course which I like.
