​yep, response times on most big TV's 1080 or 4K aren't that good. Because Sony understand this they have some of the better TV's for gaming. shame because some of the latest LG TV's are stunning, e.g there signature TV.

It's just luck of the draw mate, LG and Panasonics aren't any different all TVs get light bleed. And in practical terms for panel bleed company is irrelevant as the panels typically aren't in house, one or two companies make panels of certain sizes and then sell them to everyone else. It's worse on newer panels largely because of HDR and increasing size, the higher output of the backlights mean that the limits of the technology and the manufacturing is being hit. It's why they use workarounds so that they can lower the brightness on different areas of the screen to mitigate light bleed.

If you aren't happy with the light bleed get a new TV, take another spin on the LCD panel lottery or just buy a more expensive TV or a smaller one that's less likely to have light bleed at all.

​The backlight is set to max there as it is in HDR mode. It is still very noticeable with standard content, despite the brightness being set to 5 out of 50.

​It's the worst TV for light bleed/clouding I have ever owned. If you watch any film that is letterboxed, the bars flash different shades of grey depending on what is on screen. It intrudes massively on any dark scene and previous LG and Panasonic models didn't do this. It's worse in HDR mode because the brightness is automatically changed to the maximum to take advantage of the brightness HDR requires.

I have a 49" Sony Android and I wish I'd bought a Samsung and an android box. It so sluggish and when I turn it off the sound is still heard for about 5-10 seconds

Except it's a normal part of the manufacturing process, it's almost impossible to eliminate it entirely. The less you pay for the TV the wider the acceptance of things like light bleed.

It's also slightly disengenous with a video as lightbleed shows up far more on camera as you can pick up lightbleed in a camera that is totally invisible with your eyes in normal light.

As I said it's an out the box issue and common to all but the most expensive panels(that are explicitly hand picked). So just send it back and get another, it's Russian roulette regardless of the manufacturer. And this isn't a 3D TV, Sony never did a lot of 3D TVs and now they do even less, and loosing wifi is pretty much par for the course on every TV I've had, Samsungs are the worst for it in my experience, but so far android TVs have been a lot more robust in my experience.

If so then thats returnable, get onto where you brought it and get engineers out.

Light bleed should not be considered normal, otherwise all TVs would suffer from it. There are other faults too, such as unbearable crosstalk on 3D, the TV rebooting itself, the TV losing wifi connection and the TV suffering video drop-outs.

​you can't compare phone screens with TVs. do some research, LG have been pouring money into R&D for OLED for years now and have recently spent millions to create the largest OLED factory in the world, resulting in the TV prices coming way more affordable than before. they do have very strict quality standards and as on oled owner and former led and plasma owner there's no issues with viewing sport or gaming on the oled compared to the old technology.

Always buy Samsung. But the Androidiness of Sony appeals to me.

​this does seem to be the case. I've reported light bleed to them, they seem to think a software update will cure it!

Looks great. Lacking in 3D which is a deal breaker for me. But great TV.
