Yep was really disappointing considering the season 2 finale was great but led to the disaster that was season 3 :/

Far from the best series  Intermittently great but often woefully bad. Has one of the worst final seasons to any show I've seen. (just my opinion)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this!
I found it to be the most frustrating show to watch, glimmers of some genuinely great stuff but ruined by some shockingly awful scripts and questionable character motivations. When it's good it's riveting, at its worst it is a complete farce with slapstick action sequences you are meant to take seriously and don't get me started on all the plotholes. Almost everyone is a two-dimensional stereotype and the conclusion is so contrived and pretentious it is actually hilarious.
It's an emotional rollercoaster, not necessarily always a good one but for £22 that's a lot of entertainment.

Last season is worth the watch for the last three episodes alone

Don't worry, you aren't the only one!
The first season or two are okay - quite fun, in parts. The Irish season is just hilariously dire, and by the end you feel like someone on Death Row just hoping for the knock on the door.

don't watch the last episode. almost anything you can imagine is better than the ending. Other than that, great series.
