Hi,

For what its worth Top cashhback over Quidco every time. Quidco will decline high cashbacks so take a screen shot as by the time you have waited for them to deal with it and its gone through all the necessary time frames you will be stuffed.

I seem to recall quidco and hotuk deals have same ownership but stand to be corrected on this. Seems odd Quidco are actually replying / posting on here if neutral.

Beats the topcashback 5% higher rate, but they'll probably match Quidco.

I don't get it. So they're improving current cash back rates by 10%?

So if it was 3%, you now get 3.3%?

Used both, have to say I find TCB more reliable and faster tracking. I raise more claims with Quidco than TCB for items not tracking. They also seem to take ages to get them resolved and paid, even with the premium membership. Most annoying is that negative feedback issues are not always published. So the reviews are skewed. Now I can't see the tracking and how long for the payment trackers are now not easy to find.
Both need to treated with caution and not to be relied on even as a member. Remember they are looking after their own pockets as well.

Hi @greyhound11

We introduced the Basic and Premium accounts a few years ago, the basic account is completely free to use.

The Premium account charges an annual £5 fee which is retained from the first £5 of cashback that you earn with us, everything earned after this is yours to keep. With this £5 you have access to over 650 faster paying retailers, premium support features such as call-back requests and live chat, as well as bespoke offers and promotions.

Topcashback also charge an annual £5 fee for their 'Plus' accounts. I hope this has helped but let us know if you have any questions.

I mainly use quidco. I'm a premium member so pay the £5.

I've had a couple of claims rejected which I normally just ignore as they're only a few quid. However, I had one rejected which was £50 cashback from a Zopa loan, despite sending all of the evidence in and chasing regularly. They took so long dealing with the claim that it got to a point where it was outside of the claim period so I couldn't dispute it. They said Zopa rejected my claim...which is disgusting really as I have all of the evidence and drive the loan to work every day so I definitely didn't dream it. It makes me feel like they can just advertise any deal, you take it and they can just blame it on the retailer rejecting the deal at the end of the day.

A word of warning before you choose to receive your cashback as an Amazon gift certificate: the moment you put it on your Amazon account, it stops being currency.

Amazon can close your account at any time without warning and any gift credit on your Amazon account will be permanently lost, without refund. This does happen regularly especially to users who make several (or high-value) returns.

Additionally, if you buy something with the gift credit and later need to return it you will only be refunded in gift credit. If for whatever reason your account has been closed by that point, you won't receive any refund.

Hate Topcashback.

Fugly website, always gets me to log in multiple times each visit, always redirects me to the mobile site even though I've bookmarked the slightly more functional desktop site. And all of my transactions this year are taking forever to recover, so I'm having to raise support tickets for each one. Also don't like the fact that they cancel payouts if you don't log in for a period of time.

Quidco on the other hand have always given me immediate responses, and there agents are always friendly and really helpful. That's why 99% of all of my transactions are via Quidco. They've done me proud over the last 7years.

You have to take the premium membership if you want to take advantage of 'faster paying' retailers otherwise quidco will hold up the payment for a further 12 weeks, even after it has become payable. That's great, except nearly half of my Quidco transactions are in dispute or have been rejected. Why bother when you can't even reliably get the cashback, it's more like a gamble. The excuse that the retailer is ultimately in control is not good enough either, especially when some of the retailers also happen to say that Quidco is actually the one with the power.

Altogether, Quidco has been a very frustrating experience.

Hi @adamwilko007

Thank you for your post.

Some retailers on site will track your cashback at a lower rate and later update the cashback amount to reflect the correct rate you were expecting to receive. You can find details of this in a retailer's Quidco page terms and conditions.

If the retailer does not state that they track cashback at a lower rate initially, you can raise an incorrect cashback claim to obtain the missing amount here https://www.quidco.com/new-enquiry/

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Interesting how @QuidcoCompanyRep is able to respond to queries in which they are able to big up Quidco but completely ignores this comment.

I find Quidco's website and service perhaps slightly better than TCB, but in my opinion the latter offers overall better value for money. TCB generally has higher cashback (without having to chase for a price match), more varied payout options, and higher bonuses on payouts.
Sweetcorn12
18 Nov 16 #87
As a premium member, you are told that you get paid faster , yet your comments above imply its not the case. Is it still the case for premium member? Opphs found my answer
Look out for the Faster Paying icon
We've struck deals with certain retailers to slash the time it takes to process payments, so when you see the Faster Paying icon it means that the retailer in question will process your transaction quicker and the cashback will be in your pocket much sooner. Please note — this only applies to tracked transactions and is only available to Premium members.
Northern_Dragon
18 Nov 16 1 #88
It's very interesting reading through all the comments on here. I have been very loyal to Quidco in the past but only where there wasn't a clear difference in the amount of cashback. However I've just had a look at my recent transactions through both and it makes for very interesting reading:

Quidco - 10 transactions in 2016 - 9 confirmed, 1 tracked (none paid)
Topcashback - 7 transactions in 2016 - ALL paid

The most recent two Quidco transactions are 31st Oct. (the tracked one) and 22nd June. The most recent Topcashback one is 9th July.

Also worth noting is that I still have Quidco cashback yet to be paid dating back to March last year, in fact I have a total of 7 transactions from last year that are 'confirmed' rather than paid.

So what's the point of having the highest guaranteed rate when it isn't actually paid for 18 months?

I agree totally that Quidco decline the higher value claims. I definitely should have been paid out and again had proof like someone else on here. Quidco told me they'd contacted retailer twice who had declined the transaction, when retailer told me they hadn't been contacted by them at all. Retailer even offered to contact Quidco to sort out issue, but Quidco shut down claim. Total rip off. Wouldn't even allow me to leave negative feedback.

I have just done a comparison between Quidco and Topcashback selecting a random retailer that gives you cashback on both websites.
I picked Nike as and example and here's is a comparision between the two cashback companies:

QUIDCO

all other sales = 7.7%
for Nike iD sales = 9.9%
for Sale items = 4.4%
for selected running shoes = 12%
coupon codes you can use with sale items = none

Topcashback

Nike store (all other sales) = 9.9%
Nike iD = 12.1%
Sale purchases = 6.6%
Cashback & code = CLNOV16 up to 20% off Sale items

As you can see Topcashback wins on everything apart from "Selected running shoes"

I am surprised this is again a HUKD PICK as it is the same offer that the other main cashback site has and is therefore not such a deal. Other deals have more heat but are not Picks.

Thinking of purchasing something from Currys. On the Quico Currys page says there is an extra 10% off. Is this the same as the extra 10% cashback or in additon to?

Just put the item in my basket to see if it would reduce by 10% but appears not to? Is this because the extra 10% is only off certain products?

Hey all,

Just a few responses to clarify a few matters:

@Northern_Dragon: The 'confirmed' status means that the cashback amounts have been made available for your payment request.

So those confirmed cashbacks should be in your balance total here: https://www.quidco.com/payments

If you have requested those payments, scroll down the above page to see which cashbacks have already been paid to you.

@starbidder: Remember, if you find a higher cashback rate for any other UK cashback site, we will match that rate. We will also beat it with an additional rate 10% on top of the cashback received for the matched rate.
More information on the Highest Casback Guarantee can be found here: http://www.quidco.com/highest-cashback-guarantee/

@charlie0308: Purchases can take upto 24 hours to track into your account. Should that not track within that time, don't worry as you can raise a claim using the following link to get that will manually be tracked in: https://www.quidco.com/new-enquiry/

Thanks,
Joseph

I bought a game from Simply Games just before midnight - Anyone know if the cashback will be tracked if it's a preorder (the payment hasn't been taken yet).

19 Nov 16 #114
Ha, yeah it's been a sleepless few nights. I guess you don't bother with cashback when it's 3% or less then?

I always check Quidco, and then will use TCB as they will match or beat Quidco.

Had even in store purchases declined on Quidco, so no longer use them - I have done and have earned well into 4 figures, but not now.

The problem with Quidco is the very limited payout options. If they allowed to payout to Avios / BA I would use them again.

Mind you TCB have now introduced a very poor captcha and do not allow you stay logged in. very annoying.

19 Nov 16 #116
Thanks Joseph, you are right, sort of. On the payments page I can see that those confirmed amounts have been adding to my balance.

However I have no balance having cleared out my account I now have a zero balance but all these transactions still show as confirmed rather than paid.

So what's going on there then?

Funny there is a Topcashback deal on here (10% on ebay) with almost the same heat as this BUT it isnt a HUKD pick and isnt at the top of the home page.

Still smells fishy.. [email protected] still hasnt answered the question are HUKD and Quidco owned by the same people or is there some relationship between them. There definately seems to be some bias to Quidco on this site. :disappointed:

Good deal but topcashback is a lot better than quidco
james_lfc
19 Nov 16 #119
I made 2 purchases with Microsoft 2 days apart, 3 month ago. Topcashback tracked confirmed, and paid over a month ago. Quidco hasn't even confirmed, I've contacted them 2 week ago and they said it would be fast tracked and they'll chase the retailer this week, still nothing.

Definitely sticking to topcashback

I see TCB are now offering 10% on Ebay, whilst Quidco have completely removed it from their website, thus no need to price match.
I still find it funny earlier comments about Quidco being for their members.....

Oh my lord some peeps... if '10% extra cashback' sounds too good, that's because it not 10%+x% of normal cash back but 1.1(x%) in total. The extra % if you opt for Amazon gift card payout I simple love. I feel rich and tend to buy craps when I have a couple of £100s of gift card lying around in my Amz account! And Amazon do prioritise gift cards when you have some in your account while paying. Quidco usually send me an email with the total....some other company cough(hsbc) send you a pile of cards in the post..what? are they still in Jurassic time?

The whole 1.1x is really to combat what TCB's usually do that makes their cash back rate more 'appealing' I would guess ...but unless there is a cashback on value of mortgage, the 1.1x is more psychological rather than anything material imo. I have used Quidco (with no association beside just a member) for 10years and apart from a couple of claimes got rejected, and with the expected latency on cashback with insurance, phone contracts and on holiday bookings (I used a lot you get paid only a month of so after your stay), overall tracking is usually within a day or so and any disputes seem professionally communicated. Although I feel tracking could be a bit hit and miss on mobile sometimes?? (not those you must use a desktop ones). Also, pizzahut nowadays decline cashback on order with discount code..as with say secretsales - sad time. Was sadder when eBay dropped cashback all in the sudden and affected a few purchases I made towards the end. Hey if eBay doesnt pay Quidco what can they do!!

Don't mind the £5 at all for the Premium membership, as they need to pay their staff hired to get back to peeps a bit quicker right? Or you can request call back I think but never used ...and I mean you don't HAVE to opt in right? But I would like soemone at that end to prioritise my case!

And I prefer the Quidco's website, simple to use and less tacky vs TCB.

I ran into one unhappy incident with a bigger cashback with TCB whereby I used a discount code THEY showed on their ebookers' cb page during the time cashback/code were still possible but guess companies realised they were being double-dipped and in the process of changing. Code on TCB and cashback? I thought that's great, don't see them often - so I used TCB with my holiday and you guessed it Ebookers/TCB declined it without telling me if they were wrong showing the code by accident or something else. I specifically pointed out it was from their own site!! Was fuming so told them they might as well close my account as I would never use them again and I haven't so far, years later. They didn't close it though so I kept it in the background in case Quidco goes rubbish or doesn't have cb on a particular retailer/service provider.

A post in this thread with regard to Amazon gift card. As with all gift cards, the debt rank is really really low in the hierarchy so you are very unlikely to be protected if the company goes belly up - so use at first opportunity. Although something tells me Amazon would be safe if not better and less risky (in a cyclical sense) as a business than Apple and more diversified and I can't
Live without Amazon and I haven't updated my iPhone like I used to religiously - even the latter has a pile of cash more than some nations do...but both need to pay more tax locally!!!

Anyway vent done. Happy cashbacking - I'm closing in my £4K lifetime cashback and proud of it!

Hi @Northern_Dragon

To allow me to give you a more concise response, I would love you to grab your account details so I can locate your account and take a look at all your confirmed amounts.

Are you able to send us a message on either Twitter or Facebook?

If so, send that through as a private message with your name and email address included along with the subject line: HUKD - Cashback amounts query FAO Joseph.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you are not able to do that.

Kind Regards,

Joseph
