Fantastic deal on pears - the two packs I bought had 12 and 13 pears. To be honest, I couldn't establish quite how these had failed to reach the required appearance standards of perfect pears (other than perhaps size?) - perfect for my little ones to chomp through! Found in Abingdon Tesco though apparently available online too.

Thanks Samani... I'll blame that (deliberate?!) typo on head of cold and baby refusing to have their nap!

I got these over a week ago and they are still really hard, sure they would break flags if dropped outside

keep them in the fruit bowl under a couple of bananas that should ripen them up.

If this is an example of what supermarkets won't accept, then they should hang their heads in shame. Nothing wrong with them.

It's not excepting thats the problem but the profit they can make at usually selling a supposedly better size fruit.

They stay rock hard and never actually ripen!
Don't ask me how they don't ripen but they just don't...weird!

Just a marketing name, they were perfectly perfect pears, just a little smaller. Mine were very ripe and juicy after a couple of days....the pears weren't too bad either :stuck_out_tongue:
