Don't waste your money, they only repeat what is probably an already weak signal. Better off with powerline adapters in my opinion.

works wonders for me, definitely recommend it. Yes power line is obviously better but with devices with no Ethernet port such as smartphones and tablets this works fine.

Very dismissive comment it works very well for me in my garage where powerline adapters barely connect, if you use the turbo mode which connect with one radio and transmits with another you get a brilliant connection and no loss of throughput.....

I already have powerline adapters which are great for ethernet connections. I use this for my mobile and WiFi connections. Works well for me.

Yeah I'm sure it's called turbo mode or something like that. Basically you can connect back to the router with say 5ghz AC then broadcast with a 2.4ghz for clients to connect to. This way you don't half your bandwidth while the radio takes it turns transmitting and receiving

Having looked at the link it may be the dual band version that offers the turbo mode...

Does anyone know if you can instead turn this into an access point, sending traffic down the ethernet?

Good one but if u have problem with WiFi maybe better to get powerline with built in wireless (yes more expensive but imo gives better connection).

Works well, except when it doesn't! Been using one of these for over a year. Sometimes it needs a reset (just turn off the power and back on), which is annoying. But when connected, the speed and latency is good and it provided wifi to my back bedroom.
