Lots of people rate Miele as the best home vacuums and the C3 is their top model. This is the cheapest it's been on Amazon by £20.

I've got the 800W C3 and on the highest setting I cannot physically pull it across the carpet - it feels like it will rip it off the underlay. I wouldn't worry about the difference between 1200W and 1600W - any of these will more than do the job.

Just found the same vacuum on ao.com for the same price, however you can get a bit of cashback through Quidco.
Well I assume it's the same at least, I just ordered it! Link to vacuum
the best hoover what I had so far. I am buying the hoover bags in wilkos 5 for £3.50 not miele ones its wilkos own but it works

Excellent vacuum but performance and ease of use varies depending on tools. As someone said, the suction is so great you can't barely move the head. Quite hard work vacuuming but the turbo brush with some models is great. I bought the 'complete' allergy model.

Been after a Miele for a while, there's a way too potentially get this a good bit cheaper than the OPs price, just testing the waters and will report back
In the meantime, those who own this model, which is the cheapest place to get the bags/or unbranded replacements?

Decided against this model, it's a feeble 1200W (thanks to EU laws), spoke to a few people that say it doesn't even close to the 1600W so i'll pass...
However, as promised, for anyone wanting this version, go via Flubit for a reduced price upto 15% (I got £12 saving), then use tcb 8% or Quidco (Quidco site is down now), thus another £20+ saving

The reviews seem to say it is very strong though. Some people finding it too strong!
How can you use Quidco while using Flubit by the way? Would love to know how that works.

Looks like it's out of stock using this Amazon link but stock still available on ao.com at the same price with free delivery option if you can wait for a few days.
Topcashback discount of 16.5% for me (I assume on the price before VAT), so total price of £111

Just ordered. TCB is at 1.65% The 16.5% is on small appliances. (Unless the cashback rates have changed recently)
