Very happy. Bought this, advertised my old Xbox One 500GB for £130 online on Saturday afternoon. Everyone went ape for it, it was on fire. Got hit up with a dozen enquiries and sold it less than 24 hours later for the asking price, cash in hand. It's near Christmas. Perfect time to sell.

Net cost £60 for an upgraded 1TB drive, another 12 months warranty on a new machine and a controller I wanted that I have never seen sell for less than about £90 new.

Another decent win for me at least. Everyone else has various wins too it seems here, good job and thanks HUKD

Blue Dragon was a 19gb download, bet that would have been fun with dial-up style download speeds. TBH i've had strange speeds with both the S and elite, usually just reboot the system. I've heard that it slows downloads right down when you're in a game and sometimes it can get stuck in that 'mode' even when not.

Yup NO way will these consoles last until then..best console for the cash. The deals floating around for the lower cost older consoles are mostly with non popular games .Cant find a decent older console deal with bundled Fifa and COD IW

9 Nov 16 #181
Just setup the elite to compare with the slow downloads on the Xbox one S... The difference is ridiculous! It took about 4 hours on the One S to download a 20gb game. I'm sat here and within 15 minutes I'm 15gb into the witcher 3 download on the elite. It makes me think the One S console is broke...

Don't normally write anything but wow. Traded in my day one Xbox. The Kinect. Headset adapter. Call of duty ghosts. Tom Clancy the divison. With game they offered me £110. But while I was on the way I got it all up on CEX and it was offering me £169 showed them that and instantly matched it. Got brand new Xbox. The elite controller which is worth £120 alone for only £30. Plus u can add fallout 4 with the Xbox skins for extra £10 which I opted out for.

argos offer 30 day returns guarantee on most items

Can I return it if there’s nothing wrong with it?

Absolutely! We offer a 30 day returns guarantee on most items. (We’re nice like that.)

So if you need to bring it back, just bring it back. Then we’ll either refund the cash onto the original payment method or offer you an exchange. Easy.

You just need these 2 things:

your proof of purchasethe item should be unused, in its original packaging and in a re-sellable conditioner... there is no 3

PS There are a few things we can’t do returns for, such as food and some jewellery (see FAQ below) unless of course they’re faulty. Naturally, none of this affects your consumer rights.
imdurc
9 Nov 16 #165
He was asking what the benefits of the Elite model were, not the Elite package contents. Also, the price of the controller is more realistically going to be £90-100.

http://www.argos.co.uk/product/6060491 reserved this and then went into store and told them about the upgrade offer I saw online, might have just been my luck, but guy on phone from customer service in store confirmed it and the lady in the shop honoured it.
I know on the link it doesn't bring up the elite however it doesn't state any terms and conditions of the offer anywhere, so they never argued the point with me

Seeing as this is OOS at Currys and Microsoft i've gone for the Tesco offer at £199. It's only another £10 and still a good deal IMO. Shame I missed out on the better prices though.

I'll sell my existing console and controller for around £120/130

Great deal was going to go for this however was out of stock for me so......................
I got the Xbox one elite with wireless elite controller argos £199 and got £10 gift card because I spent over £100,
However I also got Gears of War 4 for free due to a message on their web page
Go to argos home page,
click on this weeks top deals,
scroll down the page and click on the gift and gaming tab..it will then list an offer for the Xbox One 500GB Name Your Game Bundle + forza gorizon 3,
click on this and it will load and page that then displays the offer
" upgrade to a 1tb for only £20 Extra
plus get gears of war 4 for free"

link also here

I couldn't do it online however went into store and as long as they can view it this way on their instore computers behind the desk they will honour it, if they cant find it, tell them to ring customer services and they will vouch for it over the phone.

The fan was really silent in my opinion but from the sounds of things it's hit and miss. I've also bought this from tesco yesterday so will collect today. that is what happened to me, GOW4 changed between 11 and 1 one day last week. I can see something similar happening with all these cheap Xbox One deals flying about. I know I can trade it online but they only insure upto £50
Elbandito
9 Nov 16 #103
Well then my only advice is to check the online pricing on their website- webuy.com, so far it has always been consistent with what I was being offered in store, despite store might say otherwise (was selling an Xbox one s some time ago), they paid 192 on website, in store it said 203 on the board (someone didn't update it) but they could only give me 192 as that's what the system said for them. Having checked the price in the same day that you wish to sell the console, you're pretty much certain what you would get (unless an unfortunate event happens that they update prices on your way to store, but that's pretty unlikely).

Also mind that you can sell it online and send it to them. That way you are certain what you get for it.

9 Nov 16 #101
No I meant lower than it is now, last week I was traveling to town to trade Gears 4 for £36 as that what it was when I set off, by the time I'd got to the shop the price was £16 less. Didn't want to wipe my Xbox, travel to town to find out the price had dropped and no transaction takes place.
olivermills6
9 Nov 16 #100
I feel like it would ask to be formatted when first connected to Xbox?
Also how do you get game files from internal storage to new one? just move onto external HDD I guess?
Elbandito
9 Nov 16 #99
They can't offer you a lower price (well technically with grading consoles they could pull something, but as long as co sole grade agree, then you will be fine). Should they not have enough money in the till, they will only offer you a bank transfer, they won't offer you less as prices are fixed in their system
jokinjp
9 Nov 16 #98
Even cheaper if you have a Flubit Elite account - £176.79
Undisclosed2
9 Nov 16 #97
Great, thank you! I did realise 14 days wouldn't be enough having posted the comment..

I still edge towards preference for the PS4 (I like Killzone/Infamous..), but not willing to spend too much more for a 1TB console, given current pricing!

21 days is perfect - I have no problems not using the console for a few weeks, anyway. However, as someone moving over from used to playing PC games, the elite controller is very attractive.
keejoonc
9 Nov 16 #96
Yep, there is no way I would buy the old Xbox One again. It's too ugly and huge. Once was enough LOL
Dmitri44
9 Nov 16 #95
21 day mate,I did the same

An unwanted product can be returned for a full refund within 21 days of delivery as long as it’s still in its original, unopened packaging. This returns policy for unopened goods is in addition to your statutory rights and applies to purchases made in store, online or over the phone.

Separately to the 21 day policy above, and in accordance with your rights when you purchase goods online or over the phone, unwanted items can be returned even if you have opened them for inspection as long as you let us know within 14 calendar days from the day after delivery. Once you have told us you want to return an item, you should do so without undue delay and not later than 14 days from the day on which you informed us of your decision to cancel the order. You can examine the goods as you would in a shop but to obtain a full refund you must not start using them, install them or input any data/software. The goods must be returned in ‘as new’ condition and in their original packaging.

paulj48

If I take my Xbox One into CEX with my Gamertag and games still on for testing purposes is it easy enough to then revoke the licenses, didn't want to wipe the hard drive, drive to town only to find they say they have no money in the till or offer a lower price.

Game saves are in the cloud so when you open a game for the first time on the new console it will come up with a 'Syncing' message. If you have an external hard drive then you can just plug that straight into the new console and it will then recognise what games are on there.
Undisclosed2

I am right in thinking that as long as I don't open it, I can return it in two weeks if I change my mind, right? Eg. Just on the off chance there is an amazing deal on a One S or PS4..?

I have the 1TB version and had planned on getting a new One S for the living room to game if the wife's in bed, I was all settled on the S until the Elite dropped down to under £200!!

They're far more sturdy than the standard controller shoulder buttons. They're like the later designs, but again, more solid. No click, like the original Xbox One pad design!

Does any one know if the bumper buttons on the elite pad are the same as the original Xbox one pad, or are they like the bumper buttons on the new revamped pad that comes with the one s? Cheers in advance

I managed to get the 500gb Lego Stars Wars PS4 bundle, Fifa, Uncharted, Lego Avengers and extra Sony controller over the last month through various deals here. In total it's cost me about £160 for all this and it's tucked away for Christmas. Wondering if this would be a better option now!!!
JohnnyRoller
8 Nov 16 1 #68
Because the controller alone is selling at around £100 on its own (a price which people have been happily paying). Which leaves you with £90 for the main console which is a 3d blu ray player; a 1tb hybrid hard drive with a unique ssd and build which gives you the option to play all the current gen games. Which also offers backwards compatibility for a lot of 360 games also. Also it's very appealing to people who already have a standard xbox one with a standard controller as they can sell their current setup for £120+ which leaves this a cheapish upgrade. Unless you have a 4k tv then you will want the xbox one s.

Got the Tesco £179 deal this morning and used £35of club card points so got it for £134.99, sold the console to a work colleague who just had his Elite burgled (and who thankfully doesn't go on HUKD, lol) for £160, and kept the controller to use on my Xb1S.

Just start off small with the paddles, use the smallest paddle and set it to something simple.

Before long you'll build up and they will become much more natural.

I've never had mine fall out though?

8 Nov 16 #62
just got one and the elite pad feels very very good in the hand, although the paddles are more of a hindrance to me than a help, and they fall out quite easily, the d pad is awesome however,it does feel premium, the ssd hybrid certainly makes it feel snappier in the os,not sure about in games yet

Bought one from Argos earlier, saw the Curry offer, bought two more, will take the Argos one back for a refund, sold my 500gb xb1 with 3 games and a spare pad for £167inc delivery if I can't sell my other 500gb I will take it to vex for £100, works out at £130ish to upgrade 2x500gb to 2x1tb with elite controllers..... no brainer for me plus new warranty...... was looking at xb1s for 4k Blu-ray but will skip this now and go for scorpio once it comes down in price a bit after launch

escortboy
8 Nov 16 #57
They had a great deal on the PS4 at £150 which stacked with the 20% off to make £120!
escortboy
8 Nov 16 #56
Someone has listed just a new console and it sold for £158 with free delivery. If you take off delivery, PayPal and eBay fees I guess you're looking at £130 net? If you have a cheap deal on fees then obviously it would be more.
Be aware that there will be loads of people doing the same thing as you so you might find it harder to sell initially until the excess supply has been sold off and then you gradually become competitive again.

As it stands at the moment if you get the current going rate your elite controller would cost you £59.99.

Whether it's worth the hassle is up to you. If you can sell on gumtree or to friends then any improvement on £130 would decrease your effective cost on your controller.

Amazon rarely have decent console deals imo, just price match select other retailer deals to get the sale.

I'm in same boat! Bought an Xbox One S etc purely for the Size of the machine as I can't fit the Standard Xbox One in My TV Unit when It's Vertical of course.

But really want the pad. How much do you think I could sell the Console on It's own for?

I sold an elite controller for £105 on eBay with the £1 insertion event and paid £3 odd postage so nearly £100 net after PayPal.
If you pull off something similar then it's £90 odd for a 1tb sshd console with a nice matte rubberised finish, chromed bits console. Get a cheap controller and you've done well out of it!

Btw I have an elite controller I bought in March for £80 with the 20% off code on Amazon warehouse. It's fantastically good, feels like a really grown up pad, tactile, quality... Makes the regular pads and PS4 pads look so awful in comparison and you resent having to use the pov spec ones.

The paddles are really helpful, can be mapped to give you an advantage in games e.g. Map them to jump/slide and has precise control over you movement and aim whilst others can only go one or the other.

Give one a try before you make your mind up!
ST3123
8 Nov 16 #48
Really tempted to buy one just as a low cost way of getting the elite controller. Got it to go as low as £175 with Flubit.

Thing is I don't need the console as I recently upgraded to a One S. I could just take out the controller and sell it of course. However, the fact it has a SSHD has me intrigued, is there anywhere that says how much real world performance benefit this brings over a standard HDD?

Also is there anyway that I could swap the SSHD in the elite for the standard HDD in the One S giving me the ultimate Xbox One with SSHD storage AND 4k ouput?

I got an elite and set it up just now. Whisper quiet, elite joypad and 1tb sshd, other than that it's same as the S.. unless you have a 4k set.. Then it gets more complicated. I'll wait till Scorpio before I worry about the 4k stuff.

As someone who went through 3 xbox one s consoles with rattling fans, this elite is a god send. Literally barely audible, awesome.
