These are great drills, what I don't like is the sparks from the motor, do prefer sealed, if I can see them then so can dust! Remember to go to Makita website within 30 days, register to opt in to the 3 year warranty and keep your original receipt. https://www.makitauk.com/service-web/login.html

I've used the cheapo copies on Ebay, try not to get them from Chinese/UK cloaked sites as I had one that failed after 9 months and it was a hassle getting it exchanged. I havant had any issues with them. Even the genuine ones have failed on me, just depends how often they are being used!

Argos are doing the batteries for around £35, bought one the other day. First one was faulty but the replacement works fine.
1of the carpenters in work bought cheap battery off flea bay and it caught fire while on charge. Lucky he was about to stop it as it was in a clients kitchen. Don't buy them cheap alternatives can be dangerous
