60Hz... now that wouldn't be too pretty on the eyes if a console is connected to this for gaming (not that everyone is going to do that).

Why would 60Hz be bad for gaming?

Are you sure this is an 8-Bit panel? LG Support Chat confirms it is an 10-Bit panel.

Hope you saved the chat if you're going to buy.

I think it's like this - for example in an FPS, two players online with the same ping, one has a 60Hz TV and the other has a 100Hz TV. The guy with the 100Hz TV despite both with the same ping is likely going to see the 60Hz TV guy first and likely respond faster (i.e get the kill). So the higher the Hz on the TV the better for gaming.

What if the game only runs at 30fps?

IIRC consoles are limited to 60Hz no matter if the TV is higher?

8-bit vs 10-bit so better/real full HDR bla bla blah!
but black friday is literally around the corner
I would personally like ks8000 because of it tv stand...
ks7000 stand is just so damn ugly and apart!

agreed. i'm in two mins to buy ythe KS700 but the stand ruins it and i'm struggling to overcome this. i might wait for the sony xd85 to come down in price or like you said go for the KS8000 but its another £300 on top of the KS7000 and i dont have limitless fund's.

I LOL'd so hard at this. Show me a TV with a NATIVE 100Hz panel, or in fact ANY TV that's 1Hz more than 60Hz NATIVELY. Go on, I dare ya...

I guess you missed the "I think it's like this" implying me trying to answer the guys question.
This has an 8bit panel with 10 bit dithering
so it can take HDR10 and show it, just not at 10bit
only 8bit, only the UH950v and the OLED are 10bit

their getting away with murder putting 10 bit on these things but it if people aren't going to do the research then well it's luck. For example someone further up the thread is convinced the ks7000 has a 10 bit panel when in fact it also uses the fake 10 bit dithering just like this TV
the ultra hd premium standard does not require a 10 bit panel, just the ability to process a 10 bit signal even if it has no improvement at all over the physical 8 bit capabilities of the display (which it never ever does)

Also Xbox One S reports this as HDR10.
