Has the same CPU. 8GB RAM. 1TB Hard drive (1 TB = 1,000 GB). Has a 1080p screen vs 768p. £299 (Can be cheaper using FluBit + 8% top cash back, which ends tonight. The cashback may be renewed tomorrow, not sure. But this will be around £270-280 after all that)
Slower CPU (By about 10%). 4GB Ram. 1TB Hard drive. 1080p screen. IPS panel, which means nice colours. £299 (Again, use Flubit + Topcashback to get it around £270-280)
Slower CPU (By about 20-30%). 4GB Ram. 256GB SSD. 1080p screen. £289.
The CPU may be slower, but the SSD will make up for a lot of this. The issue with that is it doesn't give you too much storage for your family history stuff. I'm not sure how much space that would realistically take though.
Warehouse deals! If you're patient and keep an eye out you can usually find some really cheap stuff here. I've got £600-700 laptops for £200~. The issue here is that you don't get a warranty and the item may come damaged. If it does you're unhappy you can always return it for free within 30 days.
All of the laptops I've picked are 1080p, which makes doing office work a lot easier and more pleasant to do. The one you got from Tesco is 760p, so the screens are around 50% better.
I'd return the laptop you got and get one of these. I'll keep an eye out if I see anything good. Few of these I got from posters on here, so cheers to them.

No way those specs are correct, they've made a mistake in the description.

For some reason some descriptions on Very have the specs for an Alienware laptop, so it's just the first half

Hi bought this lapop @ tesco earlier today around £340 on here
The one you picked is probably better, but you over paid for it (It's £320 now on Tesco and even that isn't a bargain for what you're getting).

Even with the AMD processor, it looks like a good deal to me, but I'm no expert. Thinking about going for it, so please let me know if I'm wrong

According to https://www.cpubenchmark.net/laptop.html the FX-7500 slightly out performs the i3 5015U which is used a lot at this budget but I have no idea if the Radeon R7 compares to Intel's new onboard GPUs.
Opening post
New very customers get £25 off £50
So further it knock down price.. £244.99

Everyone was going crazy for this earlier. i7, so around 15-20% faster. 8GB Ram. 1TB storage. 1080p screen. £449
Install the Flubit app and it lets you pick "create cheaper price for me" (Or use Flubit website). It then gives you £438 or so.
Then use Topcashback and you'll get 8% cashback = £402. A little over your budget, but if you like big screens and a quick CPU then this is for you.
