my old mamma, who's italian, swears that, because the packaging inside is a blank grey, even though the wrapper has all the right markings, that it's a fake... she swears it tastes different. now, if anyone knows how i can explain to an 80yr old that they're cheap because they're a bulk bargain and not a knock off by waitrose, i'll be happy to arrange a meet (and yes, i know why it's actually done!).

taste buds of an 80 year old are shot. Nothing will taste the same. hence why we seek out stronger and stronger flavours as we age

I tried this on my bialetti mokka maker and it was awful/undrinkable. Not sure why. Instead I use freshly ground coffee and its marvellous
