Argos do not have the LG 58UH635V in stock at £669.00.
Feeling deflated I perused other stockists and came across a pop-up on the John Lewis site stating that they were going to price match anything that they stock against other retailers TODAY only!
I was dubious but telephoned and to my surprise, they price matched without discussion.
I also got 5 year guarantee plus free delivery as standard (chose to collect due to potential BF delivery delays).
Check it out now!
There seems to be no evidence on the John Lewis website to support this post, well meaning though it may be. John Lewis are notorious for NOT matching prices, despite their stated policy, so could we have some evidence that the deal exists please?

Are you saying that, for today only, John Lewis are actually going to honour their "Never Knowingly Undersold" promise, by reducing their prices for all when alerted of a cheaper competitor price?

No they falsely stated this for MANY years, but no one would ever challenge them, they get away with so much

I'm not being rude but genuinely asking - how is this different from what they usually do? Thanks!

I think the difference is online price matching. Before the would only match in store prices.

Hi
If you check their small print or contact customer service, John Lewis usually only match to in-store retailers. I have tried in past and they were quite clear that they only price-match under certain conditions. This is definitely NOT their usual policy.
If you have a different experience then no probs but this is a first for me with John Lewis.

90% of my requests are refused. They make false claims that there is not a show room or retail outlet, when there is.
They know they are undersold and make false claims.

John Lewis normally will not price match items that carry their extended warranty as the item is not then considered 'like for like'. They don't normally match TV prices unless their competitor is also offering a 5 year guarantee included in the price.

I don't think that's true, unless they have recently changed it. This has not been my experience.

Not true. The 5 year warranty is classed as included so JL will happily match prices at other retailers (subject to their T&Cs) no matter what warranty the other retailer offers.

Likewise - they refused to price match my holiday in Antigua next year. The cheek!

They only price match against another retailer that has a physical store within X mile radius (50 I think) of a JL store. In my experience they generally reject on first attempt until you prove the other retailer has a store and has stock.....by this time the price has usually gone up and you miss out! That's their usual policy so matching on line prices today is a big step, shame they wont do the same tomorrow!
