It will run just about everything you could want from internet, apps and games. Its not a high spec gaming system but will run new games at ok frame rates. So yes at this price I would say its a good deal if you need a monitor and printer then also check the Bundle offer

Not bad at all. Only drawback is I assumed the expandability will be limited - hard to change or upgrade components as the size, motherboard capacity and warranty limited.

Can't find any definitive benchmarks for the APU, only a questionable Korean one.
Indications seem to be that CPU performance is comparable to an Intel i3 (but it does much better on heavily multithreaded applications). It's a high end APU but that still translated to a fairly weak CPU.
In terms of graphics, it looks like it does do a moderate level of gaming. 30+fps at 720p with medium to high settings. Performance drops heavily when you increase resolution as APUs use the system ram which is much slower than dedicated ram (and this system likely has slow ram).

The reason people can not find much info about this APU is that so far its only been released to the big system builders like HP,Dell,Lenovo and so on. People should be able to buy it around the end of the year for home builds at which point lots more information about how well it runs will come out. As for the computer as a whole the hard drive is a little slow and the GPU can not be linked to a second card but it is DX12. Right now no other offers I have found come even close to these specs for this price.

Not a great choice. Old technology at an inflated RRP, it's not really a deal. AMD is releasing a new Zen CPU in 2017 and it will be dumping these old cpus in the coming January sales as they are based on old tech that doesn't come close to even a basic Intel i3.
SLOW 5200rpm hard drive
OLD tech CPU with poor benchmark scores
You would be better off with a Intel i3 based machine for the same money for business or home use. Or an i5 for a little more for gaming with a dedicated graphics card.

Very sub-standard. Probably not worth the buck. Can't seem to find any information about the APU so I would have no idea about the benchmark but I would assume it would probably be okay for casual gamers. CPU is a 2mb cache on 3.5ghz quad core so it's definitely not the worst but the architecture on this model would be so old. It's probably ideal for somebody wanting an every 'home' computer and not run games. If you want a budget entry gaming PC, probably better to splash out an additional 200 pounds.
please find me a i5 for 299. its unfair to compare. you should be comparing new i3 not i5, then show us benchmarks

from what ive looked at on 3d mark firestrike this cpu is better than the i3 6300
"the SYSmark known for his “love” to the CPU from Intel, it is not surprising that neither the A10, or Athlon could not even come close to a modest Pentium G4400. The more reliable benchmark Cinebench R15 model A10-9700 scored 305 points (in single-threaded mode – 92 points), while A10-7800 – 302 points. Both processors are ahead of Pentium G4400, but behind the Core i3-6300. Finally, 3DMark Fire Strike test demonstrated that AMD is not without reason decided to release a new series of 28-nanometer APU: 1714 points roughly correspond to the level of productivity between the Radeon R7 240, and GDDR5 Radeon R7 250, which is a good result. A10-7800 processor behind on 433 points (33.8%), and the Core i3-6300 – 719 points, or 72.3%

comparing this to an i5 is frankly borderline insanity
This CPU is BRAND NEW 7th Gen Bristol Ridge AMD APU. It can NOT be compared to the old A10-7800 running DDR3 RAM. THIS PC comes with DDR4 MEMORY 2400mhz, overclockable to DDR4-2933 MHz
This CPU is bundled with AMDs new super quiet Wraith copper CPU cooler and the chip runs at 65TDP. A nice jump down from 95.
This CPU is on a brand new AM4 board. The SAME BOARD THAT AMDs ZEN processor will use when released in 2017. it also comes with USB3.1 the new AC WIFI waaaay better than the old n standard with a massive 4x speed increase and a better connection.
Its a £300 machine you COULD game on. Plop in a SSD, enjoy the 2TB hard drive AND its fully future proof for the next generation of AMD Zen 14nm processors. It should last 5 to 10 years. Just like my old 3.4 Ghz AMD Phenom ii 965 has lasted me, before it was worth buying a new system.
This thing is a monster. And I just reserved one.

Frustratingly hard finding reviews but here's part of a review from heise.de, translated from German.
"Our past tests of Bristol Ridge and Carrizo chips showed that they only made small improvements compared to their predecessors. The A10-9700 also performs in CPU benchmarks virtually the same as the Carrizo Athlon X4 845 with the same clock frequency, or the two-year-old A10-7800 with Kaveri technology, which minimally clocks higher. Much better is the GPU performance, here AMD solves the promise: The A10-9700 scores 1714 points in the 3DMark Fire Strike, which is significantly more than the A10-7800 with a lot more shader cores, but also much lower GPU Clock frequency (1281 points). The racing game Dirt Rally calculates the A10-9700 in full HD resolution with "medium" details liquid at 35 frames per second.
This works, however, only if the A10-9700 can also use two DDR4 memory channels. With only one DIMM, such as HP the Pavilion 510-p150ng as standard, the 3DMark Fire Strike drops to 1090 points."
HP have different naming conventions for the desktop models for different markets and even for different high street retail chains, which makes it hard to price compare; you can find the 510-p150ng on the German version of Amazon for 399 euros (about £339) - https://www.amazon.de/HP-Pavilion-510-p150ng-Quad-Core-A10-9700/dp/B01JOADJHC?th=1 - though it only comes with a 1TB hard drive; as far as I can tell the new version of the 510-p150ng that uses the new A10-9700 is otherwise the same 510-p199na model, above. I'm not sure where Curry's get the £300 saving from. I doubt this base unit will go up to £600 when it comes off special offer, but to give them their due - and again only if I am right about the 1TB German model being otherwise the same - you do appear to be saving a bit.
Can you add a dedicated graphics card into this build?... this is the only thing that holds me back from buying this HP.

I bought this system on Thursday. It seems really fast and so far has handled everything nicely. I had open firefox with 20 tabs, edge, vlc, and cubase music software running several virtual instruments. This was using about 40% of the processor. I think this system will be fine for most applications. The onboard Radeon R7 graphics are so much better than my last PC, It renders web pages nicely, images look crisp and video is smooth. Having shopped around I would have struggled to get these specs for £300 so i think it's a decent deal. I did a benchmark test at geekbench and it got a single core score of 2341. Their benchmark score is 4000 for an Intel Core i7-6600U @ 2.60 GHz.

I bought one of these and just turned it on for the first time today. It's terrible! It's done nothing but freeze since I turned it on along with making more noise (which I assume is from the fan) than it should for a brand new pc. I haven't even finished setting it up and I'm already thinking about taking it back. Within the first hour it's come up with a message saying there is a problem with one of the fans. First impressions are not good! Very laggy and non responsive. I guess I must have just got a faulty one but I'm not sure if it's just general with this model? Any advice from fellow owners would be greatly appreciated

Mine's working really well, not much noise (I think it's the disk running or something - that kinda generic desktop pc sound), no freezes at all even when downloading and running several programs. You're probably right in that you got a faulty item. Swap it for a new one and see how it goes?
