Cheers OP. Ordered! This has great review and can only be better than my Integrator 500w psu I got with my pc and it's a nice price.

I'm planning a pc build at the moment, looking in the range of AMD rx 480 gpu, Intel i5 6400 etc. Basically a reasonably future proof 1080p machine. I don't need a power supply with this much power right? Around 500W should do by my calculation, please tell me if I'm wrong though

I'd get this for the fact a 500w can be enoigu but for a decent 500w you might be looking at same price or more. I've gone for this since a 1070 minimum requirement is 500w that's why I have and it's on offer at a great price

Stick your components into PCPartPicker and it'll give you an estimated wattage. I'd be surprised if that hits 500W, however 850W for £55 on a semi-modular PSU from a known brand is a pretty good buy.
You're probably not going to find much else better for a similar price to be honest

Yeah I put the build into pcpartpicker and got a power of just over 300W, but you need a margin of safety right? 500W is overkill yeah but maybe 400/450?

400/450 should be fine, but again, you'll probably find a 400-500W PSU for £53 so why not go all in on a 850W
