My wife wanted a cheap Android to replace a broken within contract iPhone.
She originally bought an Alcatel Pop4 from Argos for £70 but it was dire as it only had 1GB RAM and 8GB Storage and that just doesn't work with Marshmallow from what we saw.
It just continually crashed due to out of memory and/or storage and we took it back - that was even with a 32GB memory card and moving apps to there.
I believe this phone should be a lot better as it has double the RAM and storage. It also has a 3000mAh battery. Processor is a Quad-Core 1.3MHz something-or-other.
Spec:
Unlocked SIM Free
3G network (Advert actually says 4G so unsure)
Ultra-sharp 13 Megapixel rear camera 5 Megapixel selfie camera
5.0" IPS HD screen
Blazing fast quad core processor + 2GB of RAM
Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS
16GB Storage + 128GB SD Card Support
Dual SIM Support
Hope this is of use to some of you
Edited to add: Available in Gold, Black and White. Also available from Appliances Direct (same company?)

If you are not in a rush the DOOGEE X5 MAX Pro with 4000mAh battery and 4G can be had for about the same price from numerous eastern suppliers.
You may be lucky and find one shipping from a EU warehouse.

I was hoping for a cheap Doogee deal this weekend.
I bought the X5 Pro for around £36 and it's well worth the money.
I'll keep watching.

No 4G though which might be a deal breaker for most. I was looking around at some of these last night and also be careful if looking at the LTE ones as some models don't cover all the UK major bands so be careful according to which network you preferring to use. In the end I didn't buy any of them as found that the 3gb ram ones mainly either didn't cover all the bands or the ppi on the screen was terrible. On the 2gb ram version one did interest myself as covered all bands had a ppi of over 400 but was stuck on lollipop. Was some custom roms out for it but reported as all buggy on Marshmallow. P.S I was only looking at the devices sub £130.
If you are not fussed about OS version look at the Cubot S600 on same site only £10 more adding fingerprint scanner, Samsung Camera,4g (all bands), GLONASS GPS and glass/metal body rather than plastic.

Sounds good but we are on Vodafone and live in the middle of nowhere.
Sometimes we struggle to even make calls so 4G is just a pipe-dream for us

Lol fair enough! Noticed also no 5ghz Wifi band if that matters to yourself also. Where I live you get zero Vodafone signal never even mind 4G though every other network is fine and O2 4G is rather fast at around here and work.

My daughter's iPhone 6S has developed the re-call battery issue, so I bought one of these, or something very similar (Cubot) from Amazon for £65 and it arrived the following day. Build quality is astonishing, screen is pin sharp, touch screen is on par with my wife's S5, battery life is excellent. Frankly if it had Samsung, Motorola, or Sony stamped on the back, I would not doubt it. £65 is incedible and I could live without 4G and 5ghz and spend the resultant saving of £600 compared to an iPhone 7 or S7 on a nice holiday!

Is the camera as good as they say it is? Seems most are using a Sumsung camera. Still debating which model to buy for my sister for Christmas, currently she has a terrible Sony (I'm unsure of the model) which has a terrible camera, laggy as anything (I was trying to clear space for her and was getting frustrated at how slow it was at the start thought it was because I'm just used to my Nexus 6P on Android 7.1.1 but even compared to my nieces LG G3 - my old phone I gave her it was terrible). Her wants for a phone was pretty simple "a camera as good as her daughters phone" and not laggy! The cubot range falls into the price range I was looking at although since I know she would compare to her daughters phone I wanted something with a decent ppi on the screen also. Still debating that S600 but would prefer Marshmallow for the adopted storage.

I see you've finally woken up to that as well. Even though Iphone is great, it is WAY overpriced compared to what the Chinese are able to make nowadays. Not everything from China is crap (Iphone is made in China too). Have a Homtom, a what?, exactly, great phone that does everything my wife's Iphone does, at a fraction of the cost. And it's 4G. Colleagues at work were astonished what I got for the price it cost, one immediately went online and got one for Christmas.
I saw that phone but it only has 1GB RAM and that seemed to be a killer when trying to run modern apps on Marshmallow (typical modern bloatware). This one has 2GB so I am hoping - no issues.
