If you sign in to Argos once you order the item is on hold, if the price isn't at the reduced price which it should be, cancel your recent reservation which will free up the reserved item and instantly reserve it again. I done a similar thing when the PS4 first came out and constantly reserved and quit over 4 days until I had the cash spare whilst it was technically sold out.

Hi mrpaulc
Just double checked with Argos and it comes with physical copies of both games. So you could sell on eBay. Fifas £40 now but will come down to £30ish due to recent price reductions

If it helps, I've been on the lookout for a slim 500gb ps4 bundle and this is the one I'm going for.

Just hope it's online as I'm can't be bothered with instore on BF

alexsassconsulting
24 Nov 16 #221
The Echo Dot is brilliant. I'll be picking up at least one more after midnight. So much fun, especially connected to the Hue lights (extra cost). I bought the Fire tablet from Argos after seeing it mentioned on HotUKDeals but saw it was simultaneously reduced on Amazon too, so check both after Midnight. Seems that you can generally add to basket and the cost at checkout reduces from about half midnight in my experience.
alexsassconsulting

If they had confirmed this to you they would have been breaking the law. Competition law prevents price fixing and comes with huge penalties if found guilty. As a result, companies don't tell individuals about pricing until it's announced publicly. Otherwise you could be from a different store, this would be price fixing.

From Argos t&c

b) If you reserve a product and the price changes (due to normal fluctuations e.g. goods going into or coming out of promotion) before you collect the item, you may request to pay the lowest of i) the price on reservation or ii) the prevailing price in store at the time of collection. This will also apply if your reservation is extended but not if the reservation collection window has expired.

Having a quick skim around and Argos aren't the only disappointments. JL and Tesco pretty poor. I think the public will tire of having all this striped across 7 days+, preferring just Black Friday and Cyber Monday and some genuine hot deals.

Yep, poor show for Nintendo in general. Gutted I've dedicated my whole week to finding a standard 3DS around £99, why we didn't get the one released in the US for $99 I don't know!!

I thought with Argos removing the black N3DS from its site a couple of days ago we was going to get it. I have two white ones reserved but at £149 each. Why they didn't even just bundle a game or two. Instead we get a £1 off a case WTF???
David23
25 Nov 16 #325
I agree, having everything spread out over a week on both sides of Friday not only wears people out it also has made the retailers make all the offers mundane and anything reasonable much harder to dig through to find. This year nothing has really stood out that much so far. I think they are reigning it all in now that the pound has plunged.

I was considering the 2DS for me and the lad with the new Pokemon game included but Argos selling it for £99 even Nintendo are selling it for £89. I tried to let Argos know that they might be selling it for more than retail and I just got a generic response saying "sorry we can not price match this item"

I picked up the limited edition Pokemon XL because they seem to be selling out fast but think it's overkill for my 8 year old. Plus I want one for myself and can't be having him rocking a XL and me on a sky blue 2DS lol.
Midlanders
25 Nov 16 1 #332
Obviously a retail wide embargo on any price drops for all Nintendo consoles, considering they just brought out alot of new colours and editions, there are no offers less than the primary nintendo site.

Supply and demand i guess, regardless when the time comes they'll prob close to sell out of most 2/3DS consoles even at RRP due to pokemans

my friend, admittedly is a Web developer by day, has the echo and insisted I get involved as it works amazingly well and has limitless open source potential if you get right into it... Novelty but eventually very useful and time saving if used correctly, a total time and resource drain if your not going to geek right out and if you are against talking to your equipment it's not for you

Got a couple of reservation codes for Argos Kingston Park or Metrocentre for Ipad Mini 2, pick up today only

We reserved, but then saw tesco deal for 189, saves you an extra 20 quid - will post up later before I leave for work

£189 on Tesco. You could cancel / return?

25 Nov 16 #341
I have one. I don't regret paying £100 for it. Special skills are still limited but if you need a Bluetooth speaker anyway, it's worth the extra cost. Works well with audible and prime music.

Amazon echo. is there any point if you dont have Amazon prime? is it then just a bluetooth speaker?

A lot of point actually?, watch the QVC demonstration's of this, they deliberately go out of their way NOT to emphasize it in any way with ANY pre-existing Amazon 'stuffs' (eg. Amazon Prime and the like?), etc, etc?.

They stich to things like asking Alexa what the temperature in London is expected to be on next Week Wednesday?, and what the current time in New York is now?, as well as connecting it to 1 of those Programmable Electric Socket things, then via an installed 'App' on the Amazon Echo via Amazon Underground Store etc, they then tell Alexa to turn the Table Lamp on, they then also tell Alexa to turn the same Table Lamp off again too! (but they also point out the obvious, in that it could easily have been connected into a TV instead?!), & .....

It feeds off of more than just 'Prime' ..... lol. :-)

I've reserved PS4 and Uncharted/Fifa. If I was to return the console, would I have to return Fifa as well, as that is free with the console and not part of the bundle?

25 Nov 16 2 #350
Serious question??

Of course you will, it's only free when bought with the bundle, so if you return the bundle it's no longer free

Same applies to Buy one get one free, you can't just have the free one
Spidersmudge
25 Nov 16 #351
Return? If you mean turn up to collect and pay for just FIFA only then yes, that's fine.
hab92
25 Nov 16 1 #352

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's just I've seen other bundles that are just as good, but they're in stores a bit further away so might not be able to make it there today, so I thought if by some chance, I do get there and pick up a deal, after I've already bought the first one home, then yeah, I'll return the first one that I've reserved.

^This. Echo's really good in the kitchen - play radio, Spotify, set multiple timers etc etc all hands free, but I wonder how it will be when my Prime account runs out. I'll probably switch to Google Home when they get a wriggle on and release it.
trakker1
25 Nov 16 #358
I'm actually buying the 3DS consoles I have reserved at full price either way but was hoping the price came down.

Some items like the Firesticks and iPhone 5S they have a note saying that you need to pay upfront, well here in Manchester they have. Obviously to stop people just reserving for fun.

Yep, agreed. New deal posted this morning on this site by one of our fellow hotukdealers - if you have Prime Now and it has a 2hr delivery in your area, you can get 10 pounds extra off for an Echo or a Dot. Just ordered a Dot for 30 pounds to compliment my Alexa with code NOWTEN. Happy days

Me too. if you go to the Amazon site, there's about 1800 reviews. about 200 are 1 star reviews - complaining about things like it doesn't do EVERYTHING the US version does, but most people who are happy with it rave about it.

Thought I'd add this:

I was going to get it on Monday but the cheapest I could find was £429 - then saw this - awesome!!
Good chance it'll be out of stock but fortunately I have friends who live 10 mins from where I've ordered mine to be collected from, so they'll do it and post to me - MASSIVE discount considering it's Apple!!!
