No it's not.
Olive oil is one of the worst for frying - it's not heat stable, it has a low smoke point, and the fats turn unhealthy from high heat.
Olive oil should really be used cold - as a dressing etc, or low temperature cooking.
When I looked into oils, rice bran is one of the best. Very high smoke point, and other health benefits because of the rice bran.

Rice bran oil can only be extracted using solvent. So it is never be organic and free from solvent. Rice bran oil is used because it is very cheap as it byproduct of rice cultivation in India and China. Is is extracted using solvent from rice husk before they are burnt to produce heat. Like Coconut oil it is a new oil for Europeans but olive oil remains the best proven time and again.
