Just got anno 1403 or something like that which also on sale for less than £3 Looks like the closest thing to a more modern AOE we've got right now.

Anno is pretty different more of a city and economy management game. It's good but it's not AoE

Been waiting a long time for this to drop in price. I bought it years ago for 10p direct from Microsoft but setting up multiplayer games is dreadful. AOE2:HD runs really badly so this is the best bet.
