The film? No it expires after 48 hours.
The Xbox credit? Yes they give you a code that can be redeemed anytime.

The code .. I read the T&C and it says there may be a time period of which you need to use the code of the credit so don't think I will risk it . To keep it till Christmas and it maybe not work to but xbox live .

The codes will be at least a year on expiry so you'd be safe until we'll after Christmas I would have thought. If the codes are expiring within 3 months they have to clearly state that in the t&c's.

i just bought xbox live from currys for 34.99 its cheapest around for digital card.
it is available a few pound cheaper if your happy receiving digital code via email.
as mine is a present, its worth paying the extra.

Unfortunately you cannot purchase an Xbox Live subscription with Xbox credit. The only payment methods for a subscription are:

Unfortunately you cannot purchase an Xbox Live subscription with Xbox credit. The only payment methods for a subscription are:
Prepaid subscription card
Credit/debit card
PayPal.
