Great buy for this time of year for Christmas decorations or peace of mind during one's winter hols! Can't find any cheaper elsewhere for just one unit.

There is a £1.99 one in Wilkos. Its much slimmer than this but less increments i.e. half hour intervals instead of 15 min

Yes seen that but I prefer this not just because of the increments but also the compact size. I'm going to use it in a medium size Dri-box for outdoor Christmas decorations so the smaller the better. Each to their own though...
