A decent PSU is necessary if you're sporting a higher end graphics card that requires more power than the PCIe lanes can supply, but for admin work its fine, the PSU will never be taxed. Even expensive PSUs go bang - I've had a £80 corsair explode in a cloud of smoke after a few months, keep your PC backed up and don't worry about it.

Not bad, just put in a GTX 1050 ti and you're good to go. Depending on the PSU.
Also need an OS but just buy one cheap from Ebay or kinguin

I bought one of these last year. Came with a poor motherboard and crappy 400w psu
same price as the processor on its own, pretty much. heat!

we need a cheap but reliable PC for basic Admin work at local charity. Whats the issue with the PSU on this?
I'm not very up on technical stuff so a simple solution would be appreciated.

It's fine for what you want it for, it's just that it may not be good enough to add a graphics card, which you would not need.
