I am reposting the deal here because 1) the existing deal is expired and 2) this is not related to any 'flash sale' which was the case with the original post.
I have just called virgin and got them to switch my 2 numbers to a new deal 5000 mins + 5000 mins to 08 numbers + 5Gb data for £10 instead of £15 (if you look on their website, the deal is advertised at £15). To do this I called them and said that "a friend of mine got this deal yesterday" the chat guys didnt know about the deal and said he cant do anything for me. So I called virgin and spoke to the 'pay monthly' team telling them the same thing, the guy went away for a couple of minutes then came back and said "yes we can offer you that deal". Both numbers switched.
Not as good as my original tariff (unlimited everything for £8.50), which I had for about 2 years until they recently increased it to £22!

is this a 12 month or 30 day rolling contract? I'm getting 4gb of data for £10 after the flash deal and I think about 2000 minutes but never use that much data and hardly any minutes so not sure if it's worth changing. I used to get "unlimited" data for £6 plus a pile of minutes I never used

Its 30 day rolling (I personally don't like being tied in to 12+ month contracts).

My understanding was there were to be more than just this tariff, including some sub £10 price plans. Did you ask them about any other tariffs?
jaykay1975 to gadgetcake
12 Oct 16#8
In my experience you can switch your tariff as many times as you want with Virgin, so if there ever is a flash sale and if a better offer is announced there shouldn't be an issue switching from the deal in this post to the new one.

Well they wouldn't give it to me at this price. Told me the best prices are whats shown on the website as they always do when they keep increasing my price. They said my price is already the best they can offer blah blah blah.

I must say that I was surprised when they gave the deal to me, because I faced the same rejection with the online chat. But as I said in my post above, after calling I got the deal - perhaps try calling a couple more times and speaking to different people might work?

Based on the expired thread referenced in the deal this is my take:
1) Virgin are planning a sale, the deal the OP quotes will be part of this sale
2) The sale was due to go live yesterday, but they had issues with the website, so it is not yet public
3) On the back end in their system the deal is live, it's just not public yet on their site yet. Some advisors seem to be willing / aware that they can access the deal now and are doing so. Others aren't willing / aware so are not offering it.
Based on the above I am expecting an official 'launch' of these sale tariffs at some point this week.

I used to be on virgin mobile and on the face of it they offer a great deal, but when you have plenty of signal and someone calls you they get through to your answer phone and then you don't get a message to say you have voicemail until hours later. Virgin was cheaper than my ID payg now, but I got so annoyed with this happening (even after I complained several times) I just left.
Get it at your peril, one day you'll be waiting g for that important call and you won't know that they've called already!!!

I had this with Virgin and I also get it with Life Mobile so clearly an EE issue. I find the reception far worse with Life Mobile and reluctantly considering going back to Virgin with deals like this.

Just spoke with Virgin and they advised the flash sale scheduled for 11th October had indeed been deferred.

I phoned and got the deal (£10 for the £15 deal). What i was told, the deal is on but they are having technical difficulties implementing the deal, so have added a note to my account (and 2 other accounts of mine) to say I have got the deal and they will honor it and implement once their system is working. I may have picked it up wrong (stephenpulley1956) but I'm sure they said to me that the deal will only be available till the 18th !... could be wrong folkds so please don't hold me to it !

Somethings goin on just spoke to them and they can't say nothing but you can tell by the language and check back and see! They know if they give no deal no one is signing up! Looks like 4g is coming by the end of the year but he wouldn't say!
Obviously ee now btee wanted 4g for itself to sign up customers but as 5g is only a few years away and 4g becomes standard they will sell it to the cheaper operators! At the moment only 3g they have to sell as per ofcom rules! But once the premium pricing wears off they will charge virgin life etc more to have access to 4g as this is money up front! We'll see what happenes

EE does do 4G for resellers, V business sims have it as does 1pmobile.com, prob dont want Virgin Media servers hammered by retail customers as the data backhual server is Virgin not EE's, EE only provide the data connection to Virgin servers, its half a MVNO Virgin Mobile - the calls & mins are EE wholesale not the data, Virgin Mobile data could cripple Virgin Media broadband customers speeds, esp with a 4G signal so Liberty Media dont offer 4G to retail only business customers.

I guess your idea of a deal is different to mine; a) Not many people knew / know that this is available, b) It saves me £10 over 2 phones each month, c) I got the deal along with many others (read other posts here) d) if virgin cant get their act together and give everyone the same offer, thats not my issue .... bottom line is that I thought this would help others the way its helped me, if it didnt work out for you, better luck with other deals.

Be aware that they will NOT let you use anywhere near 5000 minutes to 08 numbers. People have been cut off for as little as 100 minutes. Whether they are willing to let you use the 5000 minutes to landlines or mobiles I don't know but I would expect to be cut off if usage gets high.

I can assure you it isn't nonsense. Both myself and my partner have been disconnected for "using too many" of the 2500 minutes (on the £10 tariff) to 08 numbers. I also know of quite a few others. They do NOT hold up their end of the deal.

12 Oct 16#44
0845/0870 were included on Virgin plans previously with no limit then a high limit, 2500 I recall
