Does anyone know if this will work in the New 3DS?

yes, but only if you format it a certain way

it's a major overkill for the 3ds though. You need to download tons of retail games for it to be worthwhile

It will do a job in a mobile phone, just check if your device will see 128gb before ordering.

These are slow cards even for the U1 class.
Too slow for me as I record video at 1080p @ 30MB/s.
Personally, I'd get something else at this pricepoint eg. Lexar Pro microSDXC 633x.

Very fair point re speed, and thanks for info, can you post a UK based link for your suggestion as all I can find are either cards from the USA at $24.95 or an SD card from MyMemory at £56

The test results in the graph for Toshiba U1 is too high.
It can just make around 10MB/s for sequential write. It cannot achieve 17.9.

You can get them more or less anywhere eg. Amazon etc.
Wait for the U3 version, or other faster U1 cards such as Sandisk Ultra 80MB/s, Samsung Evo+.
They are frequently here for around £25 for 128GB.
Surely, there is going to be some during Black Friday sales.
This U1 card is really slow. Its write is just on the edge of 10MB/s, sometimes slower than 10 even for large files. I am talking about sequential write speed, not 64K speed for small files.
There are or soon will be better options for the same price.

I have one of those. My one developed a fault after a year after doing a load of large sized video recordings on it. Card is locked in read only mode and no amount of formatting/reformatting can fix it. I'm not suggesting that other cards can't also fail but personally I'm not buying one of those Sandisk Ultras again.

Looks like I'm not the only one - look at the reviews on Amazon. Over 10% of buyers giving it 1/5 shows a huge proportion of disappointed buyers: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Mobile-microSDHC-Adapter-SDSDQU-032G-U46A/product-reviews/B007JTKLEK
I cannot tell how durable is every card. I can only tell the performance from what I test.
Durability is a hit or miss. Those Samsung Pro or Sandisk Extreme tend to be better cards, but they are in a different price league.
That's not very much use then.
