Similar to the recent ebuyer deal for the same model of hard drive, 10p more expensive and also with free delivery. Much cheaper than it's currently selling for on Amazon.co.uk. More than 50 available, delivered in a few days.

A quick Googling indicates that it is just televisions that Vestel will make for Toshiba in Europe.
I think so too.
Sifting through the on-line reviews for this model many give it a thumbs up, although it is said that the hard drive can get hot while transferring lots of data. At this price and from this seller I am willing to try one for my occasional back up purposes.

I wouldn't buy anything from BT. They are supposed to be experts in telephony and broadband and they cant even get that right.

This is normal for any 7200rpm drive in an unvented enclosure. And yes, I can say it does get quite hot within half an hour or so of spin-up if you're hitting it. Fine for occasional use but you'd want to put a bit of air flow through it if you want it to be permanently on.
Toshiba make their own drives using the manufacturing facilities they purchased from Hitachi.
BT is just a shop here, and I've used DABS for years with no issues so I wouldn't expect any from bt.shop either.

I have one of these hooked up to my Xbox One and the HDD can be a bit noisy at times.
