Great price for this (matching Asda's price)! A new 3D Blu-Ray release of The Force Awakens with lots of extra content.

Edit: As pointed out by Biggunspaul in the comments, Prime members also receive a £1 Amazon digital credit with this purchase.

SUCCESS !
On the third attempt I have managed to get a £7 refund, but I had to post up their own terms and conditions stating that it included the release day to get the Amazon price guarantee.
Now I've got to spend £3 of the £7 refund to buy headache tablets to combat the migraine that Amazon have given me for making it so hard to get a refund.

eventually managed to get them to agree to refund the difference but it took me over an hour on live chat and I had to provide evidence that the price has been £13 at some point today as they wouldn't believe me!

Just spoke to them and got my £7 back - just quoted the above statement 'Whenever you pre-order a book, CD, video, DVD, video game or software item from Amazon, the price you pay will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.co.uk between the time you placed your order and the release date'

Speaking personally, for me it's not always possible to guarantee that I can get to a physical store on release day, so pre-ordering allows me to guarantee that I will get it delivered on the day of release.

Out of interest...
...why would you pre-order anyway unless getting a discount or free content?

That's really odd as last year I received automatic partial refunds on items that had dropped in price since I purchased them, without even contacting Amazon. Sounds like they've changed their policy.

Odd that they told me something different and in the email i got back regarding my enquiry it said "Please rest assured that the difference will be refunded to your payment card within the next 48 hours."
I guess we will know in the next 24hrs or so if we are going to be refunded. Will be well and truly p!ssed off if not. Wish i had kept a copy of the chat now.

mines not arrived yet, so just have to reject delivery and re-order, told customer service it's mad, but hey ho!
bit sneaky to negate the pre-order price promise by lowering the price on day of release.

Unfortunately Amazon have form in this area. Usually in my experience they've been happy to offer a credit to match the price though. It's a shame if they're starting to not do that.

Just looked at the terms and conditions on Amazon about pre orders and it says this -
Whenever you pre-order an item eligible for our Pre-order Price Guarantee, the price you pay will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.co.uk between the time you place your order up to and including the release date.
NOTE that it includes release day !
Back onto Amazon for a 3rd time :disappointed:
