Always let these air out after use, leaving the door open. We had one until a few months ago (same mode) and it went rusty inside after 18 months of light use where the metal frame meets the door. I've never had that happen before but I highly doubt these are actually made by Sharp. Still though, not exactly getting robbed for £16! Heat.

You should always wipe it inside and out and leave it for a hour or so to cool down

You should have took it back and complained if it went rusty

It was well outside its warranty and for the sake of £50 it wasn't worth it so we just replaced it. Going by the second rust complaint it seems we aren't they only ones to suffer from the problem.

Our shelf price said reduced from 69.99 to 55.00 then crossed out again to 16.00,I normally find on here that if I see a good offer and it hasn't dropped in price at local store just to look over the next couple of days and then our store price drops..Good luck, hope you get one.

For Europe, Sharp licensed their brand name out to a Turkish company called Vestel. They can make a Vestel microwave and put a Sharp badge on it. Or import an actual Sharp microwave. You need to check the box.
Real Sharp microwaves used to be excellent. Now they are prostituting the brand around, I wouldn't have one.
I would take any rusty microwave back, since consumer protection laws require products to last a reasonable amount of time.
