different brand, personally I would go for the aldi one as they are well made, I have lost receipts and had to strip their tools down to repair them after way too much abuse. also 3 year guarantee if you don't lose your receipt.

I bought the Guild one from Argos, used it for the first time yesterday and was very impressed.
Similar price although it doesn't have an LED (not sure you really need one though on a saw like this). Only a 2 year guarantee on the Guild one though.

i have not seen the guild one but I have a couple of other guild tools, just seen this in the shop and it's better than the Titan one from screwfix at 29.99. I have another brand that I've had a few years with led, it does come in handy. I was cutting some joists in a loft with my back to the light, I was glad of it then. the one from aldi is variable speed aswell. I know the screwfix one isnt, don't know about the guild.

Can anyone answer what a general diy enthusiast / gardener would use one of these for ?

cutting branches and roots,
joists, fence posts, sleepers,
demolition,
imagine having a axe saw blade or a bow saw blade without the restriction of the frame or the elbow grease
a bit like a jigsaw with different blades but a lot more powerful.

I recently replaced the entire roof on my shed. Used this to cut up the old (long) roof boards to make disposal a lot easier.

I nearly bought the Titan from Screwfix.but the Guild one had great reviews and I think was slightly more powerful.

Swivel handle
Blades
Carry case
