These have different hues of white going from very warm to very cool light. This is a great price for these bulbs. I just got the normal white hue bulbs and some osram lightify colour ones for my set. If this deal was on the other day I would have definitely opted for these instead.

Saw it on Argos and by the time I got home yesterday they were on Amazon. Have some heat. Just a little bit closer to having a smart home using Alexa and Tado. All done on the cheap after the Ocado Groupon deal and these. £81 and I now have 4 bulbs and the Bridge. Loving HotUKDeals!

My whole house has hue now, mainly so I could enjoy the novelty of controlling it via the Amazon Echo. But then the hue motion sensors were released last week, and that has made it even more amazing. Hardly ever talk to Alexa any more!

Wish they'd make an SES version of the hue bulbs as most medium to small light fittings in the UK are SES lamp holders

the bulbs that Argos are selling are the older version. they don't produce as much light, 600 lumins as apposed to 800 with the new version from amazon I believe...

The Amazon Echo has worked with hue since the day it was released in the UK.
However, it only supports the basic commands at the moment. For example, you can turn individual lights on and off, or specify how bright you want them to be. You can also control groups of lights, but only if you set them up within the Alexa app first (not sure why it can't just use the groups you've already created in the hue app...). Unless you specify which light/group you want to turn on, Alexa will turn on every light in the house.
The deficiencies are more noticeable if you have color hue bulbs, as there is no way to use Alexa to change the colours or set scenes.

UK Alexa works with Hue, and works well. IFTTT support is supposedly on the way.

@gruffer totally correct. I tried using my groups set up on my Hue hub before finally figuring out I had to create new groups in the Alexa app.

I imagine this is in response to Argos reducing prices but, unlike Argos, Amazon actually have these in stock!
