Just ordered this for £75.99 as I'd wombled a 20% off Miele till spit/voucher at a medium-sized Tesco so if you can find/get given one of those with your shopping it's a real bargain. Absolutely the best hoover brand out there it seems, should last 20 years+. There is also an "allergy" one in white which seems to be exactly the same with a slightly different name and in white.

Had Miele pet one from JL and it lasted less than 18 months and a new motor was almost the price of the vacuum its self. Wouldn't touch one again based on my personal experience.

If it was from JL that was surely covered under warranty?

Did you take it back to John Lewis? They do two year guarantee on electricals, have done since time immemorial. EDIT: Whoops, just seen the post above saying the same thing.
On the JL thing, leaving the 20% voucher out of the equation (if not everyone has one) isn't it worth getting JL to price match Tesco and getting the two year guarantee?

All items at John Lewis have JL 2-year guarantee. Miele, bought from anywhere, have 2-year guarantee as long as you fill in their form.
same price at amazon. 90.24 if u have amazon student discount. Nevertheless great find OP. Just moved in to a studio flat and need to buy a hoover .

just ordered this one for £54.99 (down from 99£). Black one retails for (84£ on Amazon. Got better review on trusted reviews than the C1.
Yup, good find. I've ordered it too but from Amazon, it's £45 atm.

It was a good few years ago now and I did not know about a 2 year cover at the time.

I bought a Dualit kettle from there about 18 months ago, it went wrong recently, my wife took it back, she said the customer service was fantastic, some places make you go through a rigmarole to return things, not them, I think it's worth paying their slight premium at times.

My parents just had a brand new TV from JL after a 2.5 year old Toshiba went pop. Was very good service all round.
