I dont think this is a deal as its hard to use, spread and spreadable is £2 in Tesco ....ok for cooking but you might as well get another brand at £1 a block :disappointed:

I don't want added oil and water in my butter, thanks. Give me proper butter any day over those oiled up spreadables. As for the £1 a block, this is the larger 500g block. You're referring to the 250g blocks which is effectively the same price as this. This is actually cheaper than Sainsburys own brand at the moment.
If you keep a little bit at a time out of the fridge in a covered dish for a while it's quite easy to use.

I see the part that said "I...a little bit at a time out of the fridge" somehow got by you there. Having said that, so did the education that should have afforded you the correct spelling for 'rancid.' As did the ability to post more than 9 deals in over 8 years.
Try and post a few more deals yourself before you enter other people's deals trying to slate theirs with outdated and incorrect information.

I think the op is questioning why it's such a good deal when unbranded butter can be bought for less. People assume because it's branded Lurpak it's somehow better.

Funny, it's almost though there's such a thing as personal preference.

Aldi's norpak is just as nice as the lurpak and it is only £1.49 for a 500g tub.

There's no accounting for taste.... or lack of it.
All these people who have problems with butter must either keep their butter somewhere really cold, or way too warm.
I rarely keep mine in the fridge, just in a cool part of the kitchen.
Move it to somewhere warmer (like the table where you eat) shortly before you want to use it, and it will be easily spreadable, just like the watered down rubbish, only much better tasting.
