I know it has been this price at Toys r Us a month or so ago but if like me you're worried you won't get better before Christmas (low stock at my local Smyths so don't want to hold out for 20 % possibility) then this seems like a good deal.
Free delivery and a free Lego Geoffrey Giraffe worth £9.99. Don't forget to add him to your basket as it doesn't go in automatically but will turn to £0 when added.

I love this Simpsons but I could never justify that much on that, it's a hunk of plastic which probably cost less than £10 to create.

Mass prodiced tiny tiny pieces of plastic and you think it costs more than £10? they could churn out the pieces for this just one set in a second i bet. lego can make thousands of bricks a second so £150 is pretty much a £140 profit.

The sets don't design themselves. Lego isn't an endless chain of the same brick. The raw value of the actual plastic is nowhere near actual overheads.

Think a tenner's overdoing it, more like £2-£3

I used to think the same. Then I watched a documentary on Lego. The precision and care they take over every piece is mind blowing. Their tolerances on what is acceptable is incredible. Every piece designed and tested to fit with other pieces that are 50 years or 50 seconds old without issue. Yes it is just plastic and as a raw material you are getting screwed over. It is engineering in its perfect form though. People design these and then allow others to be able to do the same. Tested and refined into something that we all love. For about 6p a piece. What is more innocent than Lego?

I won this set a year back on their facebook page and it is still a hit with the kids. The detail is fantastic and it looks great on display. I also used getting this one free as justification for buying the kwik e mart set which is also packed with detail and great fun to build.
