A lot of phone for £133 - pretty much a 2015 flagship in terms of specification. It seems that Gigaset used to be owned by Siemens so there is some pedigree there too. Not a bad looking device either!
Here is an extract from a German review :-
The first impression is also very positive because the box is not only the smartphone itself, a charger and a USB 2.0 to USB Type C cable, but also a high-quality headset. Last but not least, the fingerprint reader, which is located on the back of the device underneath the camera, also knows how to please. It awakens the device by a one-time placing the finger out of the standby and also turns off the screen lock as it should.
The Gigaset ME not only brings the Snapdragon 810 and 3 GB RAM under the hood, but also USB Type C, 32 GB internal memory and a beautiful 5-inch display with full HD resolution are installed in the smartphone. With current flag ships the device can not keep up, but to the IFA in September 2015 it was still top, especially since it also has a fingerprint sensor, a pulse meter and a strong 3000 mAh battery.

I've got this phone. I bought it from Antelife and it is a very impressive phone for the money. Everything works great including the heart rate scanner, battery life, speed and camera. The fingerprint scanner works every time unlocking the phone too.
The only issue I have is with the Gigaset Android Launcher. I like an app drawer whereas this has a more MIUI interface which I don't like. Not an issue as such, I installed a replacement home screen launcher called Action Launcher which works great.
Surprisingly, screen protectors and cases can be found with ease on the usual outlets. You can also make use of desk docks as the charger socket is central at the bottom of the phone. Just ensure that you get a USB-C type dock or charger cables etc, not standard Micro USB.
There are no custom ROM's that I am aware of and nor do I expect there to be any. The user base of Gigaset Me phones is too low? There is a way to root the phone and install TWRP Recovery here: [ROOT] [TWRP] Gigaset ME/ME Pro from those clever folks over at XDA Developers.
I've heard that Gigaset have now dropped out of the Android Phone market, which is a shame as they made a great phone here. Be aware though that it does mean any updates to newer Android version from Gigaset is unlikely.

Here is my 2 cents ... I would avoid the SD810.
I managed to pick up a new ZUK Z2: SD820 4GB/64GB ... it was posted on here, I got it for £170. Then I flashed the Z2's Indian firmware on it with latest security updates. It's stable & very fast.
I think the SD820 will get Nougat & a bit of future proofing.
Mine have arrived, very impressive. The ROM does not seem to have been messed about with and the Play Store is working fine. I'll post more as I have a play with it.

Funnily enough, on your mention of Clarkson, I hear online that the new up and coming/yet to be aired Top Gear 'equivalent' (via an Amazon Prime exclusive!), has been panned as sheeeeeeeeeee!, the masses as a whole are yet to be able to say yah or nay either yet mind?, and ..... (but, who knows?)

Same!, I luvvvvvvvvvvvv DOS!, though it's 'usage' is questionable (depending on who you ask ofcourse?, lol), as for Windows 95, well (the very little I recall of it anyway ... ) it's short lived 'window' up until Windows 98SE hit the scene was fine I guess?, prefer Windows 98SE variant myself (as, even though it supported the newer 32BIT Platform, it still seamlessly supported DOS natively!, which I thought was sooooooooo COOOOOL, etc?).
There's a common theme in the World of late that constantly dictates that "Newer is ALWAYS BETTER?", NOT SO!, there are some otherwise Ancient Technologies that came out with the Dinosaurs!, lool, but outlived it's more advanced/sophisticated rivals!, so ..... eg. Floppy Drives (if I'm not mistaken?) was in the 'system' for the best part of 40yrs+? (even when CD-ROMs AND DVD-ROMs came into play, it outlived the BOTH), it was on when Pen Drives came into the equation about only 1 Decade ago now?, that the faithful Floppy Drive FINALLY started dying an untimely death?!.
Similar eg. can also be said with those 'basic' non-Smart Phones from back in the day of the 80's-90's or whatever?, despite £200-£700+ Smart Phones popping up like Mushrooms literally EVERYWHERE NOW, those 'old-skool' like £10 Phones are still very much VERY STRONG in the Market regardless?! (Nokia 105, Nokia 108, and the like?), despite MASSIVE heavyweights like Samsung, NEXUS, and iPhone dominating the Market with their version of what deem to you represents a 'Phone' (where the forking out of £100's per your 1 Phone pretty much dictates as 'standard' now?), with the likes of Sony, LG, and Motorola (as standard also) not being too wayyyyyyy off?.
Yeh, I have Smart Phones too (like most people, lol), but I still rock 1 of those £10 'non-Smart' Phones also (to which I referenced above ... )
You can't beat a bit of good Technology, I agree, but, until the archaic one dies a very natural death, etc, it would be a wee bit ill-sighted to totally rule out the so-called old Technology as well?.
And that's my 2-Cents on this matter as well, lol. :-)

Makes me laugh reading some of the comment's about phones and how fast they go with different processors, etc, haha, you would think they were talking about Ferraris or whatever...what a bunch of 'Geeky Jeremy Clarksons'
Personally speed doesn't impress me much, so long as all works steady enough, which I guess is why I went for a Yotaphone 2, which I guess is the equivalent of a quality campervan.
Good deal no doubt, but concerned about the risk of no way out in the event of a fault ...

Bought the Mi5 in gold for 200 delivered in 7 working days
Slightly larger screen, thinner, more vibrant colours, altho both are 1080p
QC 3.0 means better Mi5 battery life
Better processor (820 vs 810)
Android 6 not 5, probably get Nougat faster
Both look sleek but Mi5 imho looks more premium
Better Bluetooth (4.2 vs 4.1)
Worth the extra 70 quid imo, but for the money its a fantastic deal
If you're interested in the sub 150 range, perhaps the Mi Max too? About 145-150 atm

I asked Gearbest last night when they estimate shipment of my phone as it meant to be 28.10-01.11 and it is still processing, this is the answer: I checked your order and noticed that the item 199863701-Gigaset Me (GS55-6) 4G Smartphone - WHITE is out of stock recently. This may cause the delay of shipping.
According to this situation we can offer you 3 options:
Option 1 Wait a little more
The estimated dispatch time on our website is:Ships between Nov 5 - Nov 7,if there is no delay on supplier's side.
Once we ship it you will receive an email from us
Option 2 is to buy something different instead of that one and 3 refund. So I think I'll get option 3 as I'm not sure whether this phone will be ever available as Gigaset stop production of it.

Wow what are these two better phones you speak of!?
The only advantage the ones you posted above have is 4gb of ram, which will help the MTK SoC with its poor memory management. But quite frankly 2gb is enough so 3gb is plenty.
They are both speced up mid range phones.
This phone is aimed at the premium class and apart from the SD810 which power users are not happy with its performance when pushed hard for extended periods is about as top spec as you will need.
But thanks for your suggestion on alternatives for people to consider.

how many sales do you think gearbest make / day? dont you think there would be so much more grief from buyers ?
This looks very tempting as I've been keeping an eye out for something with a 5.0" FHD screen, large battery, half decent camera and the usual bells and whistles.

My LG G3 finally died so looking at either this or Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 as a replacement.
Will this be better? The specs seem so, although the lack of updates/custom roms is a bit of a drawback.
What is the point of buying such a phone with such a high end CPU if you're afraid to use it? You'd be better off spending less and buying a less powerful CPU that doesn't have these issues.
Something went very wrong with the 810. If you really want a CPU with umph go for the Helio X10 or just wait until phones with the more efficient snapdragon 820 come down in price.
Does anyone know what type of screen it has??? i.e. gorilla glass.

It's SD800 and 801 that are the problem. Sony Z3+ and Z5 which use SD810 are getting Nougat. That being said, an update is still down to the manufacturer and not a case of supported hardware = Nougat. The LG V20 uses SD820 which has Nougat already. HTC 10 and Samsung S7 use SD820 and are planned to get Nougat. However, Lenovo haven't yet announced it for ZUK Z2.

The OP's Deal is via GearBest, and your link is via BangGood, hehehe.
So, different 'Deal' essentially?. :-)
Personally speed doesn't impress me much, so long as all works steady enough, which I guess is why I went for a Yotaphone 2, which I guess is the equivalent of a quality campervan.

Sure, you can't get that **** flap phone cheaper elsewhere, but this is not a hot deal, two better phones for same price point.
You can get the UMI super for the same price and the elephone P9000 for £2 more, both with much greater spec.
compared with note 4.for 250 pounds new.. note 4 better..
so this is not deal ..china rubbish better lets say
I'd probably sacrifice some performance for manufacturer support.

I was hoping for the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 4 but it hasn't even been certified yet so I think it'll be a while before an EU or Global version becomes available. Has anyone heard any more rumours about release dates?
Will this be better? The specs seem so, although the lack of updates/custom roms is a bit of a drawback.
For reference, this is the one I'm on about: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/redmi-note-3-pro-snapdradon-650-3-32gb-lightinthebox-130-37-2533957
Something went very wrong with the 810. If you really want a CPU with umph go for the Helio X10 or just wait until phones with the more efficient snapdragon 820 come down in price.
Which shipping method did you choose if you don't mind me asking?
Is it worth buying insurance?
how long roughly does it take to arrive , I can live with being stuck on lollipop as that's what I'm using now .
So do we have to pay customs charges on these Revolut app is showing as £146
seriously tempted though just unsure like tony823 says worried about the returns policy
- Gearbest items usually take about 1 month
- Never known anyone get customs charges with free shipping options, but is always a risk
- Returns - well you are saving £200 against the RRP and this is the gamble, if it is broken you are going to lose a little I guess
I don't want to unlock or root my Z2 ... so I may never see the official Nougat on it. ...
