It's a 2014 model and I can't find any other website that can beat this price.

Solar can have its drawbacks, this has a battery that will last for the best part of a decade if taking it easy on the backlight.
It has enough features for most users and is both accurate & reliable whilst withstanding dirt, dust, impacts and water.
Hot from me.

There was a global Waveceptor device with solar power on here last week for very little more which makes it poor value.
Solar means you don't have to take it easy on the backlight to extend battery life. It just works.
Waveceptor means it tells the time accurately. When out of range of the atomic clock, my gshock watches are actually quite poor at keeping time. The nightly reset of the time is massively beneficial and turns an average timepiece into an accurate watch.
Otherwise. It's just a digital watch. Unless you work in a magnet factory.

Pretty poor value for me. Isn't solar powered or radio controlled timing (waveceptor).
For me, without these functions, it's not a proper G-Shock and should cost considerably less. It's just a digital watch in this form.

Those features, whilst nice, cost a lot more and aren't what make it a G-shock at all - this meets the original brief of being shock and magnetic proof with good water resistance.

I have had several g shocks one being solar which was totally useless for my job offshore as it doesn't get chance to recharge.

Most G-Shock's in the range actually don't have those features, especially at this price and they are excellent watches. It's far more than just a run of the mill digital watch, they use good quality components and are well constructed.

You are absolutely clueless, pal. G Shocks are designed to resist mechanical shock and vibration. You can practically do anything with one on, and it will keep going - its all about toughness and durability.
Solar power and radio controlled timing are just nice extras - but without these features a g shock is far from "just a digital watch" - that's a ridiculous statement.

Sensible talking there Ro53ben. To be honest, I'd want these as standard. Otherwise - get me a £7.99 job off of ebay.

Had this watch for nearly ten years (paid a similar price on amazon) and still on the same battery. Its indestructable and the world time has been very useful when travelling. Oh and the back light keeps my one year old entertained lol!

Same here! I've had my G-Shock for about 10 years on same battery also. I've always owned Casio watches and the old ones are still laying in the drawer running on the same battery too!
Simply brilliant, reliable watches. My 4 month old is starting to find the buttons on it also! Heat added.

I havd this watch for over 2 years and have found it to be hardy and the waterproof feature very useful. I got it at the time from Argos xbay at a little less than this so worth a look there as well.
