Some families throw peas in the lasagne so the kids will eat them and a way of getting veg in them.
Personally I never had a problem with my kids eating anything cause they always got it from being babies.
Hate fussy kids.

We always have veg as a side dish with lasagne, usually peas, sweetcorn and broccoli or carrots, I never knew it was weird!!
But I do have two children to fill with veg so maybe that's why we do it, can't remember what we had before!!

M&S lasagne are really nice (chilled counter, not frozen). The 1 portion ones go often on deal 3 for £7. Not cheap, I grant you, but really nice, plenty of meat and white sauce and enough to fill one.
My husband doesn't need any side with his.
It is one of the things I keep in the freezer for "emergencies" or "I can't be bothered today" occasions as it can be cooked straight from frozen too.

We always have salad as a side to lasagne.
Never green cooked veg, and peas off all the chocies?? I also think it's weird

I can't even describe the lasagne. One mouthful and couldn't face any more. No meat and truly the most revolting gloopy thing I've ever tasted. Peas are like bullets too. The other three items are decent value but never again for the lasagne!

I undercooked it a bit making it even worse but assuming it you cook it properly I couldn't disagree with you much. It's not as bad to me but the meat is not the most generous portion. It's ok but not great, 4/10 I'd give it. I had a similar one from Lidl about 40% of the size and that was about a £1. Still nicer than the chilled lasagne in Lidl though, 'Chef's Select' or whatever its called that thing is vile where as this is just bland. Haven't bought one for ages but M&S do a wonderful lasagne but you pay through the nose for it.

Picked up the deal on the way home in Yeovil. Checked my receipt as I left and the deal reduction hadn't gone through. Took ages sorting it at the till. Friendly and very apologetic staff but still annoying. Seems a great deal for £5. The ice cream is normally £3.79 on its own but of course that's coop pricing. I think something like £2.79 would be more like the average price in supermarkets and occasionally go's near the £2 price point. The lasagne seems large. Everything else fairly small. 400g of peas.
I like the coop ethics and more importantly their tea.

Thanks OP.
Not quite as good as the previous Co-Op Meal Deal (I'd rather have Pizza over Lasagne) and that Ice Cream looks fairly bland, but worth giving a try still.

Why is it not disgusting! Just cause you say it's not! Get over yourself!

My mam does and it drives me nuts. And me always taking the lid off a pie and making a sandwich out of it with red sauce drives my girlfriend nuts, and her not accepting that a burrito is a rice sandwich and just as crazy drives me nuts. I would put lasagne in a sandwich, mind. And have. Brown sauce, of course.

Nothing wrong with having veg. with your lasagne. What I find weird though is 3 different carbs. at once. In this case: pasta, bread and potato. Personally, I think it came from that other imported staple, curry. When the curry house was first introduced into our fair land people didn't have a clue what went with it. There was naan bread and rice and of course they had to have chips just in case they didn't like that, 'foreign muck'. They didn't realise they had a choice, they thought they had to have all 3 :smirk:

Unfortunately you couldn't say that about the lasagne in the last meal deal they ran - I've had vegetarian lasagne with more meat in than the brand they used last time, I'd have been better off chewing cardboard for all the flavour it had...
