if you have mobile internet you neither need WiFi access nor TV
you take your tablet or laptop and it's most of the time better than their ragged televisions
or you might be able to connect your device to their telly by a HDMI cable or Chromecast
or why don't you read a book or listen to audible for a change?
I'm sure you don't go Edinburgh to watch tv

I don't understand some of the comments to be honest. It's £20. It's not going to be luxury hotel quality.
But for somewhere to crash after a night out.... You couldn't even get a hostel for £20 and definitely not one bang in the centre of Edinburgh.
And anyone who pays to stay in a hotel and then spends the time watching TV or surfing the internet is bonkers in my mind anyway. If you need to check things online go and buy yourself a coffee at one of the many coffee shops.

I had the Peel TV remote app on my phone and it worked on the Samsung tv in the room. I've never stayed in a smaller room before. Alright for 20quid if you need a bed

We stayed in a Travelodge in January last year on Princes' Street - 3 nights without breakfast came to about £80 with a discount voucher.
Edinburgh is lovely but beware it's very cold and we had snow. If you get a chance go up Arthur's Seat and the Castle both are lovely.

i can understand the window problem. you could get a bit claustrophobic...I say for 1 or 2 nights at that price if you only want to sleep there it's a good deal..it won't get much cheaper than that

The no window part is actually the biggest problem, for me, that is. But I'm not looking for a hotel in January anyway

We stayed here three years ago shortly after it first opens, pretty much next door to McDonald's so you can borrow their wifi for ten minutes if you need access

This is it. People expect something amazing for very little. Reality check.

You can get a hostel just off the high street for £12. I don't know if a hotel and hostel are comparable though.

I've stayed at this hotel. The rooms are so small it's ridiculous and we didn't have a window. If you want to use the rooms TV for free get the 'peel' TV remote app

Sounds similar to the Tune Hotel at Haymarket. Stayed a room with no windows a couple of years ago it was actually OK. Felt a bit like sleeping in an office block. Next time I went back got a room with a window for an extra £5. Excellent location though and a third of the price of nearby Premier Inns.
