Just popped in our local Wilko and noticed their 15L bags of compost are priced to clear at just 25p instead of £1. They still had about 30 bags on display. I don't think the is a use by date on this stuff :-) So might also be available in your local store too.

very small bags, ideal if you want a small amount, otherwise cheaper per litre with larger bags

Sounds right but I don't think it is. Homebase 60L is just under £4 you don't get any bigger then that I think - 60L at this price is £1
Naturally it's basic but so is the homebase stuff.

Don't know, I suspect they want to make room in the stock room so it perhaps depends how many the store has. At mine they are outside with just a little sticker so easy to miss.
